Curious is anyone knows of the specifics regarding horse power and the boundaries of Springfield Lake. My plan is to put in at the ramp just above the lake (near the RR bridge) but was wondering if there is a limit on horsepower that far up, or even anywhere on the river part. In fact, where does the lake end and the river begin if there are different restrictions? I've seen guys using 90 HP jet drive motors below the dam in the river. Is that legal as well. Thanks guys.

Where is considered the "shallow windy side?" Up on the dam or at the marina? Bluff side or power plant? -
That's great. We'll probably end up doing Shelvin to Hooten since it is much closer. I'll save Kerr to Galena for myself one day. Thank you.

Hey all, New to the forum and new to fishing. Just can't get enough of this sport. My Dad is in town and I wanted to take him on a fishing float trip. I was thinking around Hooten Town as I've read a lot of posts about the area. What do you think is best, though? Is the fishing for smallies better above or below Hooten Town Access? If below, where do you pull out?
