  1. I would go with the Tarpon, have not heard much good about the Coosa. It seems like they got some good hype off the bat but failed to impress later on. The Tarpon is a great product, paddles and fishes well in most Ozark streams and lakes. It handles well in the current of the streams and the hull design tracks well in the lakes.

Could you elaborate further on some of the things you have heard that were not good about the Coosa? Whatever brand I buy, I don't want to be disappointed.

    Thanks

    Darren

  2. I am in the market for a yak to use on streams and rivers in the area for fishing, went to Dynamic Earth today in Springfield and checked a few out. The Jackson Coosa really caught my eye, do any of you own one? It has some really nice featues and looks like it would really fit my needs. They had the Tarpon too and it is a really nice rig. looking for some feedback on the Jackson Coosa.....anyone/ Thanks

  3. I live in Nixa and love to fish standing timber for crappie in the summer, the hotter the better. I want to give Pomme a shot and have heard Bolivar Landing would be a good place to launch. Would this put me close to some good standing timmber? Not sure the best route to take out of Nixa, could someone help me out with directions? Thanks alot.

I absolutely love living here, between the lake, river and stream fishing it sure makes the decision tough where to fish. All I need now is more time! Floated the Buffalo last week and caught some nice smallies, what a beautifuel place. If you see a maroon and peweter Triton with a Merc 150 on back that's me, stop by and say hello

    Thanks again

  4. Rebel Crawdad and Crickets-Check

Tubes in Craw pattern - Check

Plus a few other tricks in the bag. Will be with wife and daughter, but hope to sneak out early in morning to get after it and try some on the float.

  5. Heading to the Buffalo later this week and was wondering what would be some good baits to take with me to try and fool some Smallmouths into biting? Any help would be much appreciated. I know it's cheating but do any of you use live crawdads on the river?

    Thank you

  6. I put in on the Finley at Jamesville and floated to Hootentown Access. Of course you can always float Shelvin Rock Access to Hootentown Access. And I got hooked on Joe's Flies this year and that's what I caught the fish on in the pic.

How far is it from Shelvin Rock to Hootentown Access? Thanks for the info.

  7. I am new to the area just moved from Olathe KS and can't wait to get back into the stream and river fishing. This is my first post and i am just wondering where you put in and took out for this float? Was it public access? The scenery is awesome, great pics!

    Thanks
