I would assume the park was a mad house? Driving around three hours so hopefully with the temps not quite as good as last weekend will be able to find a spot or two to fish. Thanks
Thanks for the recipe. Is that a Pearl Holgraphic Tinsel? Or just Pearl Tinsel? I looked for Pearl Holographic Tinsel on the internet, but not having much luck finding it.
I have heard of this variation of the cracklback but cannot find information on how to tie this particular variation. Does anyone have the recipe for this particular variation of fly?
I am thinking about going down Sunday to do some fishing. Looking at the river gauge and Bennett cam, the river is way up. Any idea how quickly it will go down if they do not get any new rain?
I have been looking at both the Lamson Konic and the Allen Trout fly reels. Both are about the same price. Wondering if anyone has fished with both reels and what their recommendations would be. Wanting to give my wife ideas for Christmas... Thanks!
One place my dad and I like to fish is below the dam itself. At times when they are releasing water, you can catch crappie one right after another. Stop in at the Cannon Dam store or South Fork Resort and they will help you out even more.
thanks everyone for your knowledge on stripping flies. the people i saw had their rod tips under water. I am guessing they were doing this to help keep the fly down. will this be the technique to use for cracklebacks, wooleys, etc?
I was at Bennett today and saw several fly fisherman stripping flies and doing well. Just curious on what flies people are using. Would like to try this technique next time i am down there but have never attempted. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks everyone for the tips. Fished Friday and caught several fish on red holographic midges along with San juan worms. Very good day and not as many people as i thought might be there...
