  3. Good point guys... I agree 100% ... BUT... 1 more thing... dont forget the big drys... cracklebacks 6 or 8, hoppers 4-6, and even a few big "foam" stones... If you decide to nymph fish at night... You dont alway have to have an indicator... there has been a few nice fish caught on nymphs at night.. Man... I cant believe fall is almost here again...
  4. ok... here are a few tests..... take 2 nails and put them both in seperate glasses... put coke in 1 glass and pepsi in the other... check the nails in 5 days... the coke will rust the nail.. what do you think that does to your gut??? I work at a gas station in Ridgedale... most of the people who has "bad" teeth drinks coke.... Pepsi... isnt the best chioce either.. But I perfer it over coke... New test... For anyone who works in restaurants, or cant get bad odor out of your cloths try this.. when washing the cloths... add a can and half of Coke (or 2 full cans..depending on how strong the is odor) to the laundry (with out soap)... put it on the short wash and let it set in "coke water" for 5 minute.. let in spin out and rewash with laundry soap... now start another load and run full cycle with just laundry soap.. now dry both loads and that "greasy" smell that is alway in restaurant cloths is gone THE CHOICE IS CLEAR!!!! drink Tea!!

  18. fishing early morning in July... Id start about 5am... just as it started breaking daylight... hatchery side down by the boat ramp..or the rocking chair (south side) and make your way to the KOA.. there is an area right before the KOA that is wadeable but watch your step.. If I was to start that early in the morning.. Id start by swinging a size 12 or 14 soft hackle (or crackleback..like the TNS size 8) and go to a 16 when it got brighter .. or a size 8 wooly or leech.... if you see alot of surface active go with the soft hackles .... as it got brighter around 8am.. Id start sight fishing if the hacth slowed down.. with sculpins.... then after that.. Id go home, take a nap... and go back out about 10pm that night.. but thats just me...
  19. Ok guys.. here... for those that know me and for those that has fished with me.. I dont carry a net... why?? Its a pain to try to tote that thing around... If I catch a fish that I cant bring and get with my hands... then I work it to the shallows... as far as measuring a fish..... I have all my rods mark at 12 and 20 inches.. here is a picture... marked at 20 inches... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v732/LeonardK73/brown1.jpg and if you look close enough you will see the 12 inch mark (just above the handle... so how big are the fish... when I land them.. I just put them up against the rod in my hand and that tell me
  20. SKILLS... lot and lots of SKILLS!!!
  21. I hit the water about 10pm.. the water was very stained (a light chocolate color)....... THE FISHING WAS AWESOME!!!! I tried a new leech... a pink tail..purple body with a tungsten bead... first cast in the guanlet.... 17 in brown..fat... maybe 2 lbs second cast... same spot.... 19in bow.... third cast...alittle down stream.... 22in bow... forth cast... 17in bow next 2 cast hit and take.. bout couldnt get them in... I walked down stream about 15 feet.. casted toward the falling tree.. WHAM.... 23in brown... 30+ fish last night out of the guanlet... 2 was under 16in and the rest was well over a pound... WHERE WAS EVERYONE LAST NIGHT???? ended up with 2 break offs..
  22. hey guys.. I enjoyed it.. this morning I took momma to work.. and run to the hatchery for the kids fair... did alittle fishing this morning... did alittle this after noon.. just around 11:30 they flushed the chutes... 7 fish smallest was a 18in brown 2-2 1/2lbs... biggest was 23in about 4 maybe 4 1/2 bow.... 5 were caught on the baby bow pattern I showed (big, black, ugly.. with a feather tail)... 2 of the fish (a brown 20in and a bow about 22in) was caught on the new fly... Triple Decker... no picture... didnt even think about it...
  23. to find Terry at night fishing...HEHEHEHE... just look for a big tall Santa out of uniform and in a pair of wader casting the rains from the rain deer on a broomstick...hehehe hope to see you there buddy
  24. well if you guys make it down... give out a shout.. I'll be there somewhere... we all know Michael has a loud mouth (opps.. I mean voice) .. Im sure I'll hear him.. if not Im sure I'll hear his radio... Leonard hope to see you guys there...
  25. There are alot of smallies in Taneycomo... Just nobody can ever find them...LOL.. I have caught 3 (all over 17in.. biggest 22in).. all were caught on a stickbait in running water between July-Sept downtown Branson... before they took out the gravel bar island by the Branson Landing.. when they generated water there was a nice pocket of still water.. I pick them all up in that area.. if you were "after" smallies.. like Tippet said.. just inside creek mouths .. like turkey creek, roark, bull, ect.... My best guess would be to get some diving crankbaits running 7-10' deep and hit the mouths of the creeks late after noon till dark... Leonard
