  1. Yes... Like Michael said..Lights are your friend at night.. Lots of guys likes to use the LEDs.. but I use a small flashlight, not as bright.. I can see through the water a little better and it doesnt spook the fish as bad as a LED (but this just me).. yes I do carry a back up light (small) and a LED.. Also know the bottom is a must... some places I have no problem fishing in but other I just dont go to at night... Leonard
  2. Perchjerker... Yes I use those.. sometimes.. let me know the next time your down this... Id be happy to join up with you for some night fishing... I like to start around 9 or 10.. and fish till 1 or 2.. sometimes late

  4. well the beavers arent that bad... but when you see something in the dark that has 4in front teeth and can knaw through a log bigger then you... they make you alittle nervous.. I just hate the idea that they can swim so close to you and you not even know they are there... I have had 3 beaver swim within 3feet of me...1 of them soaked me.. big tail slap..
  5. Hey Rusty.. I didnt know you were part of MAKO... Those are a great bunch of folks... you all have done alot for the fishing/fly fishing industry... My time in Neosho was spent in some of the events you all did... I just regret not becoming a member. let me know you alls next trip to Taneycomo... Leonard. Tell the Van Winkles I said hey!!
  6. Itdont bother me one bit.. I kinda enjoy it!! Just remember... I can take a joke... as for as me being a stripper... NOPE... I like the drifting better... I just like it to lay there and go with the flow!! Leonard
  7. Finally... I got to get out on the water for some "education" and "finding" the right right fly for a over cast almost full moon/with a little drizzle rain.. I hit the water about 9:30pm.. and stayed till just after 1am started up by chute 1.. with a new little mink streamer (gray).. in about 30 minutes time I had caught 18-20 fish.. missing about 12-15 strikes.. biggest was about 18in bow (very, very fat..may have went 2lbs) well a small group of guys came down there so I decided to head down stream... started about chute 2 and second cast had a very, very big hooked (gray mink), he broke water and had to go atleast8 maybe 10lbs.. it looked like a rainbow).. I had him on for about 20 seconds and it was gone, (I think I just had to much pressure on him and didnt have the hook set hard enough).. well about 10 cast later nothing.. to the gaunlet.. started at the head with the mink and 10 cast no strikes.. changed over to a black pine squirrel.. well for the next 2 hours.. it was on and off.. I ended up catching somewhere around 30+ before calling it a night I did catch a nice brown about 19in.. and another bow pushing 18.. on the way back to the car.. I had to cast into the rebar.. 2 strikes.. and 1 fish.. Leonard... On a finally note... the beavers are back, I saw 2 last night...

    Seahorses?

well I guess I teased you all long enough!! here it is 16-20 ct shrimp (uncooked)if you use the pre cooked it is too chewy. 1lb honey maple bacon 1 jar sliced Jalap Peppers toothpick peel the shrimp and place in fridge to get cold again.. take the bacon and peel 3 strips off (with out seperating them) you should have about 4 stacks of bacon with 3 pieces in each stack take a stack and on a flat surface rub it out till it is about a foot in lenght (Terry.. this is 12inches.. and not the size of you foot!!). cut in thirds.. repeat with the rest... now seperate the bacon in rows, take the shrimp and place a piece on the bacon, add a slice of pepper.. roll bacon over shrimp and pepper. pierce with toothpick making sure you get the shrimp, pepper and both ends of the bacon.. season.. best thing to do is get a bottle of McCormicks Fish and seafood seasoning and just start making it to taste.. with Garlic, Paprika, ect... here you guys go... 15. Nice fish.. did you catch him today??? I have seen a fish that big around there since early Dec.. I believe it is something like this.. (I maybe wrong.. but Its close) Lenght (X) width (X) lenght (devided by) 800 = lbs this would make the fish close to 23 1/4lbs If Im wrong.. then someone else can clarify .... Leonard
  16. LMF.. a zonker is a streamer pattern (a baitfish imatation like shad/minnow).. you can either let it drift of strip it back.. or both.. http://business.virgin.net/flyfishing.flie...nker-white.html the is a good exsample but not the best choice.. this is a good fly for night fishing of fishing dirty/stained water... Leonard
