  1. A suggestion- Use a blender with water in it instead of a coffee grinder. That way the fibers stay nice and long! My wife purchased a 25cent garage sale avacodo-colored special just for blending dubbing when she caught me mixing dubbing in the kitchen machine. You can add lots of nifty things like clear antron, pearl and colored ice dub, and tiny amounts of spectrumizing things like yellow and orange seal (or substitute) to trick out your blends.
  2. Leonard, Fore-and-Aft flies really do make good midges. They seem to work sometimes when palmered versions, like the original Griffith's Gnat, don't. A similar pattern that you might want to tie small is a Renegade; rear hackle brown, peacock body, white front hackle. For some reason that color combination really seems to trip up rainbows. We use small Renegades a lot for Tricos even though to our eyes they don't resemble the real bug in the least.
  3. Thanks guys. It is pretty repugnant.
  4. We are covered up with snow here and lately I've been doing lots of reading about Ozark angling. One pattern that is often mentioned is the Y2K Bug. Sounds like one of those fat girl kind of bugs- lots of fun, but don't let your friends catch you using it. I know that it features a gold beadhead, but what else goes into it? What hooks and sizes are used?
