  1. I've never been down to grand lake but I have heard good things about the white bass fishing. What is the best time of year to target the whites? I've gone down to table rock the last few years in late march/early april to get in on the white runs there and had some decent success, but I didn't know whether spring or fall would be my best bet to fish for them at grand.

  2. Went down to LOZ this past weekend and absolutely slayed the crappie...We caught some suspended in 20 ft of water and others shallow. One of the best spots we found was in 3-6 ft of water. It seemed like about half of the fish we caught were still full of eggs, so the spawn's not over quite yet.

  3. Concentrate on the peagravel and also try chunk-rock/peagravel transitions, a good number of fish should be spawning by then...try using a 1/4-1/2oz jig in PB&J or Green Pumpkin for bass and pearl grubs for crappie. A shakey head rigged worm should also produce good numbers of bass.

  4. I feel your pain, the weights on Saturday were ridiculous it took at least 5lbs to make it in the top 20...I thought I might crack the top 20 on Sunday with a 4.52 lber I caught flipping brush, but I missed out by 3.8 ounces. A friend of mine also fell 2 oz shy of getting a 3.0 and $500...I still had a good time regardless, but I would have much rather gotten a check out of the deal.

  5. Thanks for the tip, I fish Lake of the Ozarks quite a bit so fishing docks should be right up my alley. We also did plan on setting some jug lines for catfish, but it sounds like maybe we could also do well with a rod and reel.

  6. Hey all, I've never been down to Grand Lake but I've heard good things about the fishery. A buddy and I are planning on heading down that way in mid June, what can we expect the bass bite to be like that time of year?

    -Thanks

  7. How did the tourney go? I caught a ton of shorts on a shakey head yesterday, but most of my better fish came off black/blue or PB&J jigs depending on the water clarity. My biggest fish was 4.5 lbs and I lost another good one at the boat. I only bass fished for part of the day since the crappie are starting to spawn.
