  1. I recently got a gheenoe (think flat back canoe, but much more stable) with a small 5hp and looking for a place to launch and fish for a few hours on weekends. Biggest concern is a launch point for a 2wd truck and small trailer. I can launch the boat by hand but i dont want to carry it too far. I have floated rockhouse to trigger gap numerous times and don't mind paying KRO to launch from trigger gap, but I also remember the water being real skinny down stream and upstream canoe traffic is always present. Don't have to have solitude just looking for an area with good fishing and room to motor up and down stream. Thanks!
  2. Any of y'all have an intermediate line in a 6 weight that is collecting dust? Looking for one for occasional use. I would be willing to trade an almost brand new rio tarpon 8wt line that came on a demo reel I purchased if it is of any interest.
  3. Is there public parking there? I just recently got a gheenoe (think flat back canoe, but more stable) with a little 5hp and that water looks perfect.
  4. Line came on a demo reel I purchased and I do not have a use for it. Line has been cast a few times in the grass, essentially brand new. $65 Shipped. http://www.rioproducts.com/fly-lines/saltwater/floating/tarpon/
  5. Hey guys I was thinking about chasing bluegill/ red ear early Monday. If you had to choose would you go to lake fayetteville or wedington? I have little experience at either.
  6. There are trout but it is completely private. It's not worth the trespassing, law will be out there quickly. You can pay a daily rod fee through springvalleyanglers.com. A couple years back its was around $100/day.
  7. Spent about 2.5 hours up richland this afternoon, below the first set of shoals. caught around 15 whites, with several of them being good sized females. I also broke off two huge fish. one of them i probably wasnt hooked up with real well, but the other i played for about 30 seconds and it snapped my 9lb tippet. I also got 6 spotted & large mouths up there. none of them had any size all about 1lb or less, but it was fun to catch something different. The water has dropped out from the most recent flood, making it somewhat fishable, go out and fish before another rain comes! -Chase
  8. Has anyone heard of them? There are based out of Siloam Springs, AR and are a private hunting and fly fishing club. I happen to have landed an interview for a summer internship doing accounting work for them. I didnt even know what the company did until after i had applied for a job there, i guess i lucked out on that matter. I had a phone interview yesterday which went well and now have a second one and meeting them sometime next week. Im kinda shocked being from NW Ar and havent even heard of the company. Heres a link to their site Spring Valley Anglers -Chase

    White Bass

Just seeing if any of you lake guys know where the white bass are. I heard a few started moving up but with all the recent rains and the river level at goshen at the twin bridges is up pretty high im sure they are all back down. Has anyone been catching them? If so are they close to the river mouths? The season is getting close and i cant hardly wait!
  17. I am thinking about bringing two girls Im watching over the weekend up to RR. They both know how to cast and have done plenty of bream fishing on some old zebcos of mine. What would be the best single point barbless lures to use out there? I have some micro jigs, would they be able to use those under an indicator and get a decent drift? How would the casting be? Any help would be great since ive only fly fished there. Also, the girls are 11 & 13, at what age do they need a MO fishing license? -Chase
  18. Interesting you mention the browns out of the trophy area because now that i think about it all browns ive fooled have been out of there and around parker. ill work on those midges and definately let you know. -Chase
  19. Thanks Joby, ill give the nymphs a try. What size do you use in these and what color is the wire ribbing on the ones you use? Also, where are you finding these browns, ive fished at beaver quite a bit, and until yesterday had only caught 2. Im not tryin to steal your honey whole, but part of the river, boat ramp, parker, ect. I appreciate it!
  20. I used the sowbugs quite often actually, and im starting to run low. Want to dish out the recipe for them?
  21. Interesting day at beaver... I fished below parker bottoms with intentions of swinging soft hackles that i recently learned how to tie, and had NO luck on them. about 11:00 i noticed an insane hatch occurring that was off and on until i left at 3. i caught one of these tiny creatures and it was small, size 24-26ish, grayish body and wings straight off the back. The only midge that i got to work was a size 18 diamond midge (black thread and thick silver ribbing). I tried zebras and several emergers and nothing worked. I managed to pick off a few stockers, a 8" brown, and my best fish EVER at beaver, a thick 19"brown that gave me quite a fight. He was very airborne and turned a frustrating day into one of my best!
  22. perfect, thats exactly what i was looking for, thanks
  23. Hey guys, my boss just walked in and gave me a fly tying kit for x-mas (i know, great boss!). It has all the tools i will need so i am looking for some basic materials to start tying. Also if there are any good websites for a beginner that would be good to know as well. Thanks
  24. Has anyone seen this jacket? I like the price along with the gore-text paclite L.L. Bean Wading Jacket
  25. Good thought on handwarmers John, that didnt cross my mind. Steve i think you pretty much summed it all up for me. With all the layering gear i currently have, i think the waterproof shell is going to work out best for me. I have definately learned some import gear knowledge from all, thanks for the help! Chase P.S. Steve - Beaver sure is missing you, hope your having a blast across the way. Hopefully ill make a trip over there once school gets out for the break
