Just thought I would share are trip with everyone. We just got back yesterday from a week of fishing on the Buffalo and crooked creek. The weather cooperated and the water was good for floating and fishing, a little bit to much flow on crooked creek for wade fishing but we did manage a couple of short trips. Last year the fishing was really tough as most of the fish were on beds and not really biting, this year they were concentrated in the deep pools and little backwater spots, I'm guessing because of the recent high water. So when we found those areas we really caught alot of fish and alot of really nice fish. They were biting a little bit of everything with crawdad type bottom baits producing the best, the key seemed to be fishing them really slow. This is the 7th or 8th year our group has been going to the Buffalo and crooked creek and was definately our best fishing trip yet. I have to say that the beauty of Buffalo river area amazes me everytime I go there and Arkansans are really fortunate to have such a majestic place in your state. We saw several bald eagles along the creek looking to get a fresh fish or snake meal(which there were plenty of both). Looking forward to next year.
