Well, I wasn't there Saturday, but I am a douchebag.... LOL. I definitely don't know what I'm doing, if that's the only criteria. I feel what you are saying, though TC. People wading a bunch through that tiny stream, making all kinds of noise, overfishing a spot. I don't mind fishing around others in wild areas as long as they follow a few rules:
1. Follow all the rules and regulations for the water we are fishing...
2. Keep all nonessential communications to a minimum. (People who have to fish right next to you and talk a bunch= douchebags. A little friendly discussion is cool for no more than a minute, but save the stories for the car ride, the store or back at camp.)
3. Leave the resource better than they found it. Leave nothing you brought with you. Pick up trash, report problems to the appropriate agency, pinch down your barbs, release fish quickly etc.
I know there are other things we could all do to be less douchebaggy? But these few are so simple to do, yet so many people fail to do them, instead of approaching a special place like crane, without stewardship in mind.
