  1. Oh yea, another sad story about the river today... One of the fish I caught at Parker had a red stringer attached to it. Amazingly, it was still health after I caught it with stringer attached! While I am not against harvesting fish, if you plan to do so, please be responsible! BTW, your red stringer is in the bed of my truck. Feel free to take it next time you see me at the river. Also, thank you for respecting the slot limit with your fish!
  2. Went out today and was satisfactorily disappointed. Parker is not near what it was last year at this point. I have not found any water below Parker worth fishing. The run below the island (peninsula after the floods) is worthless. I am amazed at how the bottom has changed since the spring floods! Would love to see some input from others...I can only cover so much ground, but we seem to have lost some status as a premier water in NWAR.

  4. Went out again and ran into some familiar faces, good to see Mike and Bryce on the water. While the river feels so much different than years past, due to the spring floods, I am very optimistic for the fall. I saw more fish in the typical fall hot spots today than yesterday and a drastic change from a month ago. My only comment other than 'get ready' is - help spread the word about rules and regulations. Not sure about you, but I see many fisherman abusing the rules and the river. Fish and Game don't seem to have the resources to reinforce the rules. I hope we all take the chance to talk about the rules with anyone we encounter, whether or not they are seemingly on-board with them or not. The best thing we can do is educate in an unassuming or opposing way. Stay safe and good times; enjoy AR at its best this fall! Scott www.fliesyoutrust.com BTW, little sad story about fish...at the end of the Parker run today there seemed to be constant action on top. As I shifted down that way I did see fish holding, except the one that kept hitting the top had mono and a bright orange something wrapped around it. I could literally see the attachment as it jumped 6-8 times in 5-6 minutes and then it was gone. I just wished it would have taken my midge; I could have released it from the mess it was experiencing. I suspect barbed or even trebled hooks caused the challenge; nonetheless, while not against harvest, we can all talk about rules and regulations.
  5. Caught near the island below Parker. Another of about the same typical size in these waters.
  6. Fished from the island below Parker up to the Narrows today. Best luck was near the island but did see fish stacking in the Parker flats. Narrows were murky and dismal, but stacking fish at Parker should mean we are close to another great fall season! Keep adding to the post to keep all informed, and remember to respect the waters and those fishing them! All the best, Scott www.fliesyoutrust.com
  7. With the big spring floods, low summer pressure and flatter river bottoms resulting in potentially more shoals, who has an opinion about this fall's fishing on our White River system? Scott www.fliesyoutrust.com

Make sure to tell us what size you want, 4x, 5x or 6x. Have been in NWAR for the past 9 years. Had such a great fall fishing season on the Beaver TW and the Little Red, decided to start a small fly fishing business. Would love site traffic and feedback. Hope to meet you on the water. Scott
  11. Tough to beat a brassie or mercury zebra midge, IMHO. I would suggest size 18 at the largest and would prefer 20. Many times, it seems tippet size is more important. I have never had the best success on the Beaver TW with more than 6x.
  12. Was reading an opinion yesterday on the ability to wade the Beaver tailwaters. Opinion was that wading would not be an option until late summer, in a best case scenario. Wondered if anyone had any thoughts or opinion and what plans others have made to stay active and on the water this summer? Also, if this is the case with Beaver, is Tanney and Bull Shoals experiencing the same challenge?
