Went out again and ran into some familiar faces, good to see Mike and Bryce on the water. While the river feels so much different than years past, due to the spring floods, I am very optimistic for the fall. I saw more fish in the typical fall hot spots today than yesterday and a drastic change from a month ago.
My only comment other than 'get ready' is - help spread the word about rules and regulations. Not sure about you, but I see many fisherman abusing the rules and the river. Fish and Game don't seem to have the resources to reinforce the rules. I hope we all take the chance to talk about the rules with anyone we encounter, whether or not they are seemingly on-board with them or not. The best thing we can do is educate in an unassuming or opposing way.
Stay safe and good times; enjoy AR at its best this fall!

BTW, little sad story about fish...at the end of the Parker run today there seemed to be constant action on top. As I shifted down that way I did see fish holding, except the one that kept hitting the top had mono and a bright orange something wrapped around it. I could literally see the attachment as it jumped 6-8 times in 5-6 minutes and then it was gone. I just wished it would have taken my midge; I could have released it from the mess it was experiencing. I suspect barbed or even trebled hooks caused the challenge; nonetheless, while not against harvest, we can all talk about rules and regulations.
