  1. Really appreciate all the advice, thank you
  2. Hi guys, i am thinking of going to 11 point the weekend(14/15th sept) from turner to riverton staying out overnight camping, my only concern is we will be taking our 8 year old boy with us, he can swim but not very well and i wasn't sure if it would be a good idea because of this as we will be the only two in the canoe, i have only drifted from turner to riverton once about two years ago. any help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks and tight lines to you all
  3. Hi Ness, thank you for the welcome, fishing in the UK is very expensive and as your friend said, everywhere is owned by someone, it cost on average $18 a day to fish most places or you can buy a season ticket for one lake which could be anywhere from 5 acres up to 60 acres which can range in price from $100 to $1000 for a 9 month ticket, then if you do get the time off work to fish you then have to compete with 4 million plus anglers for a decent spot to fish, loving america and super proud to be able to call it home now.
  4. I don't have much experience of the river as i have only lived in America for 18 months, i drifted once last year and caught a few trout but i do not own my own boat so been fishing from the bank in the few spots available, i also only spin fish, never tried casting a fly as fly fishing in England where i am from is a costly sport being as there is not so many places to go, i drifted as a passenger from turner to riverton, its is the most beautiful place i have fished.
  5. Good luck sir and tight lines
  6. Thank you Larry, i'll take a look, wanted a boat to have a go for some stripers and other stuff.

  11. Hey Jack, thanks for the pointers, i shall take a look at those sites, this is the best forum i have come across so far, there is subjects on everything, we have a bad drink culture in England, tends to be kids between 14 and 20 getting drunk and causing all sorts of trouble, thanks for the heads up and thank you for the welcome mate.

  13. Hey ham, thanks for the advice mate, really do appreciate it, as for a-holes, that is one of the reasons i moved here, i love being English but the majority of the people have lost their way, been here since October 2010 and got nothing but good stuff to say about everything
  14. Hey Ham, thank you for the advice on Norfork, i cannot find the creeks on Google earth, do you know of a site where i can see a map with creek name, cheers mate
  15. Hi guys, just moved over from England, i like to fish for European carp and have been advised to start looking at Norfork lake, being hundreds of times bigger than all waters in the uk i was hoping for some advice as to where to start, i live over in Oregon county Missouri, i don't own a boat so i am looking for bankside access so i can fish for carp, i also love fishing for other species as well so is it viable to fish for these from the bank also, really appreciate any help you guys can give me, many thanks and tight lines to everyone
  16. i have tried below the boat put in without much luck, had a couple of trout on spinner fishing under 19 bridge but it looked a bit fast for wading, do you know how far you can walk below the boat put in on the bank, looking on google earth i think i will have to invest in a boat.
  17. hi guys, just moved over from the UK, i brought all my carp fishing gear with me so all i have to do is find some water holding carp, coming from England carp waters are easy to find as our carp fishing is as popular as your bass fishing, would really appreciate any help, tight lines to you all
  18. only been to greer a couple of times, tried just below the boat access with not much to show and up by the bridge, had 2 trout on a spinner the other day, both below keeper size, wasn't sure if there was bank access above the 19 bridge though so did not try to go upstream but it does look very good there.
  19. cheers Brian, thanks for the pointers mate.
  20. hi guys, i'm new to the area and was looking for some advice about fishing eleven point, i do not own a boat so river access is a bit awkward, could anyone help in regards to fishing from the bank, i have fished at greer a couple of times, i feel i am missing out on a lot more fish without a boat but funds are tight right now so if there is anyone who can point me in the right direction i would be one happy angler, also on fish stocks, are there any european carp in eleven point, many thanks and tight lines to everyone
