  1. I have been out of town and not able to swing by the lake but I am assuming with the colder weather the hydrilla has still yet to begin to grow back a turn green. Does anybody know what stage it is at right now or when they suspect it will begin to get green and grow up? Have a great day!
  2. Does anybody have a good topo map of the lake that they would be willing to message me or email a copy of? God Bless
  3. I know its early, but what are good crank baits and jerk baits to use on stockton in the spring and summer? With Christmas just over Im looking to blow some gift money and add to the bass catching arsenal. What kind, color, etc? And where do you fish crankbaits/jerk baits. I usually just fish finnese worms on points and chunk rock banks.
  4. Well since it got brought back to life on the forum I read through all of the comments and Bill Y, I have been all over Minnessota the last few summers and the bass are smaller, crappie are the same size, lakes are equally as crowded and you may hate the crappie fisherman that sit in one spot for hours but try fishing a lake half the size of fellows that has eight or nine different boats with three people all trolling for whatever they can catch. You cant find anywhere to fish. Those people take up the whole lake, not just a spot. Oh, and have fun with the weather, cant even fish from october through april because of ice. P.S. - A true "serious sport fisherman" as you called it would find ways regardless of all the traffic, people, polution, crappie fisherman, etc, to still catch quality sized fish that would be acceptable to keep if you wished.
  5. Look i know this isnt a traditional way to try and get a job but because I put something on here doesnt mean I didnt apply and get my name out there in other more conventional ways. Also, Im not graduating this spring. Im just looking for work, any work(almost any). Just need some extra money and im willing to work hard for it.
  6. I am looking for a job for next summer after I get out of school.(I know its a ways off still but you cant start to soon right) I got to College of the Ozarks and work in the custodial department. I am willing to work hard and do pretty much any general labor. Landscape work, farm/ranch work, but i can pretty much do anything. I know very little about outdoor equipment but I am more than willing to learn. I enjoy the outdoors and I love fishing like most people on here so i figured this could be somewhere to try and start. Thanks for anyone who takes the time to read this! God bless.
  7. Cool. I have tons of those from trout fishing at different places
  8. Thanks!
  9. What do you use for white bass? A lot of times me and my dad just drift with minnows. Im not really sure what kind of lures to use for whites. Do you use stuff more like crappie lures or like bass lures?
  10. I am planning on heading out early Sunday morning. I really enjoy the topwater action for bass (who doesnt) and I plan on putting in at either at Masters or Mutton Creek. Are there any good spots around either of those spots that anybody has had good luck with topwater lures on? If so where, and what kind of lures. I have multiple buzzbaits, a baitfish colored rapala pop-R, a few zara spooks, and one devil horse. Any sugestions are appreciated. God Bless
  11. I am looking for any advice for fishing. I am going to be fishing from the back right down from the CofO campus. All I have is an ultra lite rod with 4lb test so I was wondering what I should use to catch fish. I dont care what kind. Bass or trout preferably. Any advice appreciated
  12. Thanks!!

  14. No problem. There are some submerged trees infront of the boathouse. If you can find those you can catch quite a few. They always seem to hold lots of fish
  15. So I wont be able to make it out to Springfield Lake for quite some time so I was wondering if anybody out there would give some of my ideas a shot. My personal opinion(based on little experience, not much more knowledge, and mostly a gut feeling) are that: 1: The rising water levels will allow bass to begin to move back into the grass in shallower waters for cover and oxygen. 2: The decreasing average daily temperatures are going to move the bass into their fall habits. Which means what? -One it means they will be more comfortable in shallower water. - They will also be much more active and much more agressive. So summarized this means that I think you can expect more bites near the grasses and less in the channel. If I was able to go out in the next few weekends I would throw a buzzbait or a SMALL shad colored (black/white/silver) popper near any grass edges until a couple hours after sunrise. I would then go back and throw a finesse worm along the same grass edges I fished earlier. Use a light weight and let the worm slowly float down in front of a potential fish in the weeds waiting for a meal. Depending on the success of that I would then move to timber and throw a shallow crankbait and finally as the day progressed, A heavier weighted plastic worm out in the channel. If anybody decides to give any of this a shot let me know how it goes. Have a blessed day!
  16. Okay thanks! Post it if you find anything out.
  17. I saw online a different tourny the same day and time launching from the same ramp. Are there two different tournaments that day?
  18. What does anybody know about this body of water besides it has some good bass? Me and some friends are planning a fishing trip to camp and fish for a week or so next summer and this is the main place we have in mind.
  19. Went yesterday and caught 4 bass in 45minutes then had to leave.
  20. What color crank baits do you use? I have tried shad color(black top to white bottom) and a black top w/ bright gold body. No luck really on those.
  21. Thanks for the advice. I was thinking the same thing, normally I have good luck in the dog days of summer with slow moving soft plastic stuff. I guess I'll have to give some cranks a try.
  22. I went night fishing with 2 other guys about a week ago and we all caught our legal limits (45 total crappie) in 3 hours. And i bet for every keeper, we caught 1.5 shorts and half of the shorts were 6 inches or less. We went through 8 dozen minnows and then some bugs we found in the water to get the last few keepers. I think the crappie population is just fine for now and the future it just depends where you are fishing.
  23. haha yeah I have night fished my fair share this summre because its been so darn hot. Thanks for the advice. Ive fished a lot of finesse worms so mayb i should try something a little bigger. Ive used 1/4 oz weights. Should i go up to 5/16 or 3/8 to fish deeper water?
  24. Where are all of the big bass at?!?!?!? I have been fishing for a total of about 15 hours in 3 seperate days and can catch all the 13 inch bass in the world but no keepers. Im not even looking for trophies, just keepers. 15 inch bass. I have thrown smaller crankbaits and finesse worms on points, in timber, shallow water (5ft), deeper water(25ft) and cant find em. Any advice would help.
