I just returned from a week long fishing trip on gunn lake in Minnesota. I had a blast. Only caught 3 northern pike but the bass fishing was outstanding. Caught my daily limit(6) every morning. The bass on average weren't as long as here but were all chunks and fought harder than the ones here. I did catch one 19" and then one monster...21" 6lbs. Man he was fat and fought harder than any bass I have ever caught. Every fish I caught was on a buzzbait or topwater frog. (except the crappie) all in all had a blast. Would like to hear of anyone else who has fished up north.

Hit Springfield lake yesterday evening. Caught one 15"er before getting run out by lightning. Just back from MN and the fishing is much slower here. I've had luck on grubs but am wondering what other soft plastics work well? Colors? Finally, I know there are good crappie there but what have ppl used to catch em?

Patrick M, Idk if u remember the day u caught those fish but I was the kid who you asked if we had a scale. We were the ones who passed you when ur motor wasn't working. Anyways those are two Bice fish. I have caught a handful of 19"+ bass their this year alone. Great lake for bass fishing, and although crappie fishin is slow there, it's got some big ones. Who knows, next state record largemouth might come outta Springfield lake!
