  1. Hi all! I've seen a lot of info out there regarding jerkbait fishing being one of the best coldwater and/or pre-spawn fishing techniques. Problem is, I find it very difficult to detect bites. I use a Bass Pro Crankin Stick with an Abu Garcia Revo S and 12lb 100% fluorocarbon line I know the key is to jerk, jerk, then pause (and pause for 20-30sec) or, be erratic with the jerks. Either way, key is long pauses. With this technique, it is written in many tips that sometimes the bass slowly swallows the bait and just sits there, or slowly swims away Will I ever feel that "tunk, tunk", or do I just have to get used to this?
  2. Hello from Wichita! My buddy is coming from central Wisconsin and I'm driving from Wichita, KS for our first ever AK/MO largemouth bass fishing trip. This is a big deal for us! By the way, we're both catch-n-release. Anyway, I'm going to highlight a few points about the trip we're planning, and if anyone wants to chime in and offer a little advice, I'd really appreciate it. Planning on 3rd week in April. Hoping this timeframe gives us some good action? First 2 days at Bull Shoals (Upper is the better half for largemouth bass, right?) Going to tent it at the Bull Shoals White River State Park Next 2 days at Stockton Lake (tenting it at Stockton State Park) Next 2 days at Truman Reservoir (tenting it at Harry Truman State Park) Will we need both a MO and AK fishing license, or if we buy a MO, is there like a cheap boundary/intra-state option? Anything else we need to be aware of? Thanks in advance!
  3. Really appreciate the info so far - keep it coming! Is anyone able to recommend an affordable campground near the good fishing spots, particularly the mentioned spots near Indian Point? Would prefer to keep the boat in the water the whole time.
  4. Hello! My buddy from Wisconsin and I are planning our first-ever fishing trip to Table Rock. We want to fish for largemouth bass during the pre-spawn, but neither of us know anything about the lake. What I'm looking for is any advice as to where to fish (upper vs. lower), ideal dates to come, campgrounds to stay at, and even a recommendation for a reasonable guide who could take us out for a 1/2-day just to acquaint us with the waters. I've just about exhausted my "Google-ing" efforts because bass fishing info about the lake seems very inadequate and hard-to-find, so that's why I'm asking for your help, please! The other question I have is: would Bull Shoals be a better choice for a largemouth trip? I've heard great things about both lakes, but I just happened to come across Table Rock first, that's why it's penciled in for the trip. Really appreciate any advice! Matt
