  1. Thanks for the great flies. I like to use woolybuggers when fishing in CO. Your suggestions sound great and I will tie some up this week. On your buggers do you wrap any lead on them as well as the bead head for extra weight or is the bead enough? Thanks for your comments and suggestions.Does anyone have a fly type or color that is specific to Bennett I should tie. A fly that is a local that I should have in my box that you are willing to share. I understand the need to keep your secret pattern.
  2. I tied a few up with purple and silver wire rib. Look good but will let you know if they work. Does the original purple midge only have black bead with purple thread and no ribbing? Thanks for the pic of mini crackleback. Looks good and looks like you used black hackle? Is that a size 18 or 20? My eyes are not what they were so I hope I can see it on water.
  3. Wow Thanks for the great suggestions. On the purple midge do you rib it with black or silver wire? I never thought of a tiny crackleback like you describe. Thanks so much! I will tie these up. Any other dry flies people like to use? I have some small parachute adams that I used years ago when I fished Bennett.
  4. Russell, Thanks so much! Sounds deadly. I will tie some up in size 14. Looks like I need to get these hooks in a few sizes. I like the wide gap on them.
  5. Thanks for the colors on the wooly bugger and scuds. I will tie some up. I see you guys like the TMC 2499 spbl for your midges. I got a few today in 18's. Is that the best size to use and how about a bead and color for the midges? I assume black is good as it was in the past for me. Any other midges I should tie? I already tied a few Ginny midges thank to your help. Sounds like fishing them under an indicator is the best technique from what i read here.
  6. Thanks for all the info. and thanks for the link to the Ginny midge. I am glad to here I can use some of my old favorites. I still have some of them I tied years ago. I really enjoy this forum and all the help. If you guys think of anything else I shold try please let me know
  7. Thanks so much. I am trying to put together a small fly box worth of flies for the trip. I have some GRHR's and prince nymphs. What are good sizes for the nymphs and midges. I am not familiar with the Ginny midge. How is it tied? I like to fish small dry flies as well. What are some good choices? It has been so long ago since I have fished the parks but used to fish them several times a year for a week at a time in the past. Thanks again for all your guys help.
  8. Hello, I need some help on what to tie for a trip to Bennett during C& R season. I grew up fishing the trout parks with my Dad and have been away from them for years. I am planning a trip to Bennett and am looking for help from you guys on what flies to tie for the trip. I read that midges are a good bet but do you guys have any good color combo's or special flies I should tie. I used to love to fish the parks but not sure what to expect from them now. My old days fishing the parks were fur bugs and crackle backs in the 1970's and 80's. Thanks for your help !

  10. That's a great idea ! Are you going to make some to sell. If so please let me know. This is just what I have been looking for to use on my truck Take Care
  11. Thanks so much for posting the video ! I grew up fishing the parks since I was 8 years old and am now 53. I spent years working in Texas and not able to get to the parks. I am now back in KC. The video brought back so many memories! I agree with everyone that the two guys talking on the bench was great and a real part of the experince of BSSP. Just sit an watch the fish rise and the fishermen try to fool them. Hope to get down this year and meet some of you. Take Care
