  1. About a month ago, a buddy and I drove up to Michigan to pick my new boat (I'm still so excited that my wife was on board with such a purchase, she's awesome!). After the fast trip to Michigan and back, I spent the next month waiting to get it in the water. Time flew by, and the family headed off to take it on its maiden voyage on the lower Current River at Two Rivers. The float was awesome and the family loved the boat, however we were unable to put a fish in the boat. The following weekend (last weekend) I loaded back up and headed for the North Fork of the White. I felt pretty confident that out of 5 guys going, we should definitely get some fish in the new boat (along with a few scratches). Fishing on Friday and Saturday was tough but still a lot of fun and as always the NFOW rainbows were willing to take most of the nymphs you threw at them. I, however, was very gratified with my first 20+ Brown from this fishery, after several trips over the past 4 years fishing the NFOW. Big thanks to Justin and Amy for the shuttles, and for putting up with our drunkenness. I hope we left the Riverhouse in good order. Eric
  2. Has anyone floated/fly fished this section recently? I am taking the family down to Eminence this week for a little spring break fun and was just curious if the smallies in this section are active right now. I'm also wondering about the river conditions ( i.e. any major obstructions, and river level). I've floated to powder mill from two rivers several times in a canoe, however this year we are gonna give it a whirl in a drift boat. I figure if the jet boats can buzz up and down through that area I should be able to run a drifter through this stretch. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  3. I agree with eric1978, your boy could put on a casting clinic. Great video! I especially love the story on the 22" brown caught on the fly designed by your son, and in Conant's boat the day he paid it off. Awesome! and funny.
  4. Sean, We will be staying at the Riverhouse at Justin's place Thursday thru Saturday nite (4-12 to 4-14). We have about 10 guys coming down (5 or 6 fishing) you should definitely swing by for some beers. Can't wait to show you what I just picked up in Michigan a couple weeks ago.
  5. Over McKee, yikes! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for things to be in better shape for the second weekend of April. Hope the rain let's up on you down there soon. I think were about to get hit with it up here in St. Louis .
  6. Sean, Thanks again for the test drive and it was great meeting you and Eric. That is such a light boat. Yeah, when we got to Justin's it was pretty dark out. Thanks again to Justin for the shuttle and use of the drift boat. One of these trips I will finally boat one of those monster browns, nice fish guys.
  7. Matt, That is Justin Spencer's Hyde. I'm not sure where he got the boat. Just borrowing Justin's boat has me sold on the drift boat platform. I'm hoping to actually find a headhunter skiff. I got a chance to row a guy named Sean's headhunter on Saturday and it was killer. Big thanks to Sean if he is on this board. Eric
  8. We had a great time down there last weekend. It already seems like forever since the trip. I can't wait to get back down there in March. We caught some nice rainbows from Kelly to Sunburst and hooked into and watched a giant rainbow starighten an egg hook and ride off into the sunset, but no monster browns like those beasts. Much props to you guys. Here are a few of the bows from Saturday and a smallie from Friday with Sloss on the 11 point.
