  1. Just got home from my second visit to Lilley's/Taneycomo. Took our neice and her husband with us. He had never fly fished before, but took some lessons from a friend before they met us at "trout haven"....and it is! In 4 days fishing, he caught about 40 trout.....I caught about 10 more than he did. Yesterday (11/19/06) he showed me how.....30 to 25. He hooked one that I had half-way in a too-small net that was at least 25+ inches. He's hooked, and I'm very pleased to have been a part of his very enjoyable trip. Thanks Phil, and all the people at Lilley's landing for such a special time. We will see you again soon. Will send picture later. Shambug
  2. We stayed at Lilley's Landing for 5 days/nights, and I fished Taneycomo near the dam. In two days fishing I caught 39....mostly browns, and 5 over 20 inches....the largest was 23". Most of the rainbows were over 10". All in all it was a fantastic trip, and the cabins at Lilley's were great. This was my second best trip ever in the trout count, second only to a trip to Arizona....but I fished there on private lakes and streams. My lure was one of my own making, and it proved itself this trip. We already have reservations to go back next month. Chambug
  3. I sure do appreciate the responses to my "soft" lure question. I hope to get up to Taneycomo soon, and I'm very partial to a soft lure due to my experience with them in other states. I caught 60 (plus) trout (catch and release) in Arizona last July in a period of about 6 hours spanning an afternoon and the following morning. These were 15 to 24 inch trout, of all species, caught in private lakes and a stream. I'm in the process of trying it out in as many trout streams and lakes as possible, as soon as possible, especially in wild/natural waters. Thanks, Chambug2
  4. I plan to visit the Taneycomo area during late October, and will definitely do some fly fishing. I see where "soft" lures are not permitted, but I'm not sure what "soft" means. I would appreciate an answer from someone who can explain it to me. Thanks, Chambug
