Used to use a 6 inch auger tail worm that was what I would call motor oil with a real heavy gold metalflake and a bright orange tail. cant seem to find em anymore. Anybody know where I may locate some or if they are even made anymore? Was always a good producer.
It just makes sense to me to try something that is a natural color for the lake. Have given up on colors that catch more fishermen than fish. Been thinking about 4 or 5 inch rainbow colored Ripple shad Powerbait.
I used to fish with a 6 inch auger tail worm that was what I believe to be motoroil with a heavy metal flake and an orange color firetail. Just wondering if that color is still available?? Caught a lot of fish on that combo.
Be heading down and staying a week in mid june for vacation. Just wondering where to start and what to use. Mainly be targeting smallies, crappie, and walleye. Would nights be best for eyes? Staying a couple miles from dam. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks fishinwrench. Cant back w rivets as the boat has round rails at top of gunnels. Gonna call lowe tomorrow and see what they recommend. Mount has to be port side due to the way lowe fabricates it but motor straight ahead when deployed. Wanted it in center when in water but would be on side when stowed. May try n get pics up later so people can see whats really going on.
I have a Lowe 1852 jon boat and am putting a bow mount trolling motor on. Ordered a mount from lowe thae raises motor up past gunnels but part came with no directions on how to attach it or the small angled piece that was sent with it. Do you weld, rivet or screw it to the gunnels? Also it doesnt look like the motor will be very close to center of the boat when lowered in water. Will this be much of an issue? I know the closer to center the better. Any info. or pics would be a big help.
Ok. Been doing a lil measuring n think I may end up goin with a ft. Control motor. I need 50 inch control cable to reach floor since I dont have a deck and I am sure they are long enough. Leaning toward 70 pound edge. You fish a fair amount of current? Sorry for all the questions but dont wanna go into this blind. Just always had 45 pound motors and need alittle more.
Yep shaft too long but cant find shorter shaft in higher thrust motors in hand control. May hafta look into ft. Control but need to call minn kota to c if control cable is long enuf to reach my floor in the boat. Looked at em at bass pro today but couldnt get any help to answer questions. Walked out n wont be buying from them for sure.
Need a little help here folks. Looking at a new trolling motor for my 18 ft. Lowe and have been looking at either the minn kota edge 45 or 55. the 45 has a 45 inch shaft which is long enough and the 55 has a 52 inch shaft. Will be getting hand control bow mount. Also thought about the maxxum 55 but cannot see enough difference in the motors to spend an extra 80 bills. Looked at reviews for the motorguide varimax and dont think its the motor for me. any input would be greatly appreciated.
