  1. We were fishing around P16 in 18 to 25 ft of water. Saturday we caught them around cedars and Sunday around oaks and I'm not sure what it is called but it looked like the trees hedge apples grow on. dropping jig heads with minnows to the bottom and reeling up slow.
  2. Spent the weekend up at Truman lake and fished the Pomme arm. Caught several nice fish in the 10 to 12 inch range, fishing cedars and hardwoods off the river channel. Me and my wife caught limits both Saturday and Sunday and what surprised me was the females were still full of eggs. The water temp was 74 so did they just not spawn this year? I don't mean just a few had eggs I think every female I cleaned had eggs and some had turned a pale pink color, any ideas.
  3. The dock ramp was not fixed as of Saturday. We put in at Red Oak Resort Sunday, closer to where I fished anyway.
  4. Went to LOZ today put in a Larry Gayle, the big Niangua is like chocolate milk. The little Niangua isn't to bad and picked up several crappie and then headed to the Osage. The Osage is in really good shape and caught a lot of fish. We limited on crappie and several bass while crappie fishing. The cove we were in had some fisherman jugging and saw at least 3 catfish over 20 lbs hauled in. The crappie are really turning on and we found them scattered everywhere, deep water shallow water, around brush and while trolling. Water temp was 58.
  5. Was on the lake both Saturday and Sunday and caught a lot of fish. Couldn't really tell you where to fish we were finding them all over the place. Caught several off of a dock we fished over the winter on Saturday and no fish there Sunday this was just a ways up the Little Niangua just around the first corner back to the right from the main channel. Got caught in a storm up by Linn Creek cove Saturday and pulled into a condo dock, the rain and hail was coming down we were sitting in 60 fow and fished a few slips and caught 7 legal fish about 6ft deep. Caught several in 10 to 15 fow above the brush about 6 ft deep.
  6. Been crappie fishing several times since Christmas and doing very well. Fish a lot at LOZ and know a lot of bedded docks and that's the key. Went 3/3/12 and caught two limits of pretty nice fish and several small fish. Work was called off 3/7/12 for my wife and a buddy of mine that fishes with me a lot so they went and another two limit day for them. She did save them for me to fillet when I got home.
  7. Put in at Roach today and fished to Linn Creek cove. Started at about 9:00 am and was taking the boat out at 3:30 in the afternoon. Really slow start just picking up a keeper here and there but was still catching several small fish. Was beginning to think a limit between me and my buddy was going to be tough, but we kept fishing dock after dock. That being said we know several docks with brush and these are the docks we were fishing. finally about 1:30 in the afternoon we found a good dock full of fish. We were in about 25 foot of water fishing straight down and reeling up slow with Crappie nibblets. The fish were right on the bottom below some brush hung from cables. We did catch two limits most were about 10 inches long and they were 2 to 3 feet off the bottom. These fish were really fat and were full of shad. Good luck and go fishin!!
  8. I have purchased several boats and motorcycles throughout my life and my experience has taught me to buy as much motor as the product is rated for. This is just my philosophy so take it with a grain of salt. I noticed the new 2012 pro guide 175 is rated for a 135 hp motor, if me I would skrimp on whatever else I had to but it would have the 135 hp motor. Every time I have purchased less, after a while I kick myself because I am always thinking if it just went a little faster it would be perfect.
  9. Hello all, New to adding posts but Ive been catching so many crappie the last few weeks thought I would let you know. We have been putting in at PB2 and fishing docks in about 20 ft of water using baby shad type plastic baits. Blue Ice with glitter in em and been doing great. Just caught 20 yesterday but it was so windy we couldn't stay off the docks without beating the boat. By the way the docks have to have brush on em. If you fish enough docks theres no doubt you will find the fish. Should be good till they start drawing the lake down.
