by the water it's about 5.5 miles above galena.
Yeah its about a mile above Taylor shoal. Nice little float should be able to catch fish all the way down especially when you start getting to the bluffs.
Yeah they are all over the james not many big ones but tons of good eaters. You can see big schools of them while floating in the summer just look down lol.
Pick a spot. I like deep pools below fast water in the upper river. Best baits are sucker minnows, grasshoppers, cut shad and river shiners.
If you can't throw a cast net learn how they are worth their weight in gold.
There was a man cleaning a few at Hooten Town yesterday idk how far he had to run down to find them but they are on their way if the river comes up a few more times they may make it.
It's still a little brown but it is dropping fast. I walked back up to Taylor Shoal and caught 2 and 2 more popped off.
A guy at the ramp said he saw some people cleaning a few at Hooten Town today.
