Thanks for the advise on taking the kids to Rutledge Wilson. I just started taking my girlfriend and her daughters fishing this year for their first time down to Lake Springfield, usually can catch some bluegill and tiny smallmouth bass (7 yr old's beginners luck) I got kids addicted but with last weeks heavy rains, last Saturday the banks were completely under water at the boathouse location and We fished there and caught nothing. I think we'll try again as soon as I know that the water level has dropped to be able to sit right off the banks.

Hey there Walker nice to meet you. I have noticed great access areas on the lake are the Eastern Arms and Southern areas for crappie & bass. You should probably access either near Aldrich at the High Point ramp if you can handle the many boats in the area. Or perhaps access down at Ruark Access. I have been closely following the fishing reports and the crappie seem to be biting in 2-6 ft deep waters near the brush piles and about 8 ft from the banks. I don't think I'll be down this weekend 'cause my buddy is wanting me to go crappie fishing down at Pom, but honest to goodness GREAT luck to you!!
