  5. Fished sat. from 8 til 3. fished up big sac. water was dirty. Maybe 6-12" clearity. We caught 5 bass. 3 keepers. Water temp. ranged from 41-45. 10-12 FO.
  6. Thanks for the info. straw hat. The Weather Channel is predicting 15-25 mph. winds. So I'll stay on the upper end of the lake. (plus your report)
  7. Wife gave me permission to fish sat. Did the rain muddy up the water? What's water temp.? Will be fishing for bass. So any input would be great.
  8. Question, Does water temp. have anything to do with lure buoyancy? If it does how much. I'm wanting to add weight to some jerkbaits and was thinking of doing it in the hot tub.(big kid bath tub and jerkbaits as toys.) I like to wrap lead wire around hooks. Seems to work better than suspend strips/dots.
  9. thanks for the tip. never thought about dremel tool for weed guards.
  10. Settled on do it molds football head. pours 1/4 3/8 1/2" oz. one each. You would think they would have one where you can 4-5 same size ones. Dutch the FBB 38 doesn't have weed gaurd. But thanks for responding.
  11. With winter here and lakes starting to ice over I would like to pour some jig heads for bass fishing. I've been trying to find production molds for 3/8 oz. and 1/2 oz. weed less football heads. 3/8 oz. weedless Eakins style jigs. I want one mold for each type of jig with the capability of pouring 4-5 jigs in each mold. Any suggestions ?
  12. Second time one the lake. Fished Wednesday 3 kentuckys all day. Super tough. No wind or clouds. Thursday fished around dam. 12 fish with 4 keepers. Small mouth and kentuckys Drop shot til the wind picked up. Then fished gravel points with the wart. Ok day I guess. Didn't think I had a good pattern. Partly cloudy with some wind. Friday I couldnt find the big schools of shad to drop shot. (didn't have the patience) fished up the james river. Was happy to see it was too windy for drop shot. Again tried gravel points with wart. A few shorts Started fishing bluff walls with a craw colored wiggle wart caught 2 spots, but I noticed they werent hitting when it was hitting bottom. It was in open water half way back to boat. Switched to mid depth shad crankbait and Game on! Spent the last few hours hitting bluff walls back to kimberling city. Caught 30 fish 10 keepers. Smallmouth kentuckys and largemouth. Very good day. Don't know if I found something or the fish just turned on. Cloudy, windy day.
  13. Been a while since I posted. Drove down to Stockton. Fished 8 hrs. Then drove home. 6 hr. round trip. Had to get my fishing fix. Caught a few keepers here and there. Started in very backs of the larger coves mid lake. Buzz bait and popper produced one keeper smallie and some dinks. Fished bluff wall ends and some main points.A Few dinks. Went up river found balls of shad but no bass. Caught 4 keepers and several dinks on spinnerbaits fishing the timber along channel. Was a ok day. The drive home was rough but I would do it again! In early fall its kinda hit and miss. You have to be out fishing to be there for the "HIT" days. I have enjoyed reading the posts from the regulars. Helps to keep updated when can't get away to fish. (Have 5 month old baby girl. ) Harder to get away.
  14. Will pay $50.00 towards your entry fee.
