  1. Oh okay. I was honestly worried about BPS running them down. But I guess it wasn't. That's good to know.
  2. Mind me asking who taught you those techniques? Not too often I find someone down here who knows of them.
  3. Sadly, I believe D&B has gone under. We went up to their shop and there were no products in the building and the lights were out.
  4. Tomorrow!!!! Come say hello!
  5. Could you explain what you mean by Orange Indie? Indicator?? Sorry lol Just something cool that I learned in comps. Take your cdc and chop it up. Then stick it in a dubbing loop (I split my thread) and spin it. When it wraps it gives a really cool effect.
  6. Here's a copy of mine. They're actually a fly I fish in comps a lot so they're going to sink really fast. (Tungsten bead and slim body)
  7. My nymph doesn't have a name but I use it quite regularly. Could you PM me your addy so I can ship these out in the next few days? Thanks
  8. If you guys have got an open spot and wouldn't mind me hopping in... I'd like to do a swap.
  9. Will do. You can text me or something too. (I'll get that better than on here lol) 918 816 9535 Hit me up.
  10. Yeah, their out of state is absurd. It takes 12 months for your citizenship to count up there (to obtain in state tuition). I'm from Gore actually. So pretty much anytime is good for me. Bad part is, I'm still a senior so I can't go during the week lol
  11. Yes, the tournament will still go on but I don't see them generating on a Saturday with the lake levels so low.
  12. Dude. I'm actually awaiting a reply on my application to CSU lol Of course I haven't had the best gpa (2.8ish) so I'm not really sure how it's going to go down. Really nervous. Another college to look at is Northeastern State in Tahlequah. I've heard it's got a really good program for that. Okay, okay. I'll stop hijacking your thread. Maybe we can meet up and fish sometime? I'll show you what I know lol
  13. Hey man, what college you go to? I'm actually looking to go into the same major/field, (Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation is what I've put on my apps) and wanted to know what you thought of that schools program. Oh, I guess I'll share some information. I love fishing small flies here right now. Also a lot of san juan style things. Water's not deep here so weight's not a big deal. Soft hackles are pretty cool too. Like fishncrazy said, midges can get you plenty of fish. Dries (small adams, caddis or even a bwo) can stack up quite a few fish on the right days. If I were going to fish a dry I always degrease my tippet about a foot up.
  14. Cool! Thanks Dano! I didn't know that.
  15. Hey guys and gals. I am looking to start a recycling program in my school here in Oklahoma. Does anyone have any hints or anything on getting a program of this sort started? Of course, it would be a nonprofit group just done because I personally see a need for it. This biggest problem for us is to get the bins. There are programs out there that will donate the bins but many have certain times that you have to have applications in by and I've missed them all. Thanks everyone!
  16. I honestly have no idea. They change from day to day but it's in the summer.
  17. I have no idea what size they are lol
  18. I've actually found a few myself. Also a lot of thin worms such as a san juan. Ever heard of a Vladi Worm? That fly kills down here.
  19. No, bait is not essential. I know many guys who use redfins and stuff casting to the logs and catch a good amount of fish. You can cast net live shad in the lower river (below Marval I believe) for bait or catch trout and fish them as bait. But if you cast net a trout, throw him back immediately. The wardens will crack down on that. Free lining live bait around logs and other structure is probably the most popular way of fishing the river. Another way is fishing he is at the dam right under the cable with plugs as the water comes down.
  20. Many variables in Striper fishing down here. Will you be fly fishing or spin? The only boat launch around is Gore Landing and you can access the lower river from there.
  21. It's probably all the chicken crap coming in from Arkansas chicken farms that limits the population of bugs. Plus, tailwaters generally don't have much in the way of insects. I personally think we're quite lucky to very rarely see a mayfly. I have, in the past, heard of state programs to introduce insects into bodies of water. But I don't know what it would take for them to do something like this or if they even would with all the cut backs in funding.
  22. Oops, my bad. We all meet at the Gravel Parking lot at the dam. I believe start time is at 9 a.m. We will probably have a pop up tent set up there and a bunch of vehicles around it. Just come on over. No, there's no advance registration for the competition. Just come down that morning and hand in 5$ for your fly and you're on your way.
  23. "If you found my fly rod and reel, please call me at 479-220-0108 or 918-487-4875. Thank you very much." You may try contacting this person as I found this sign there at the river.
