If I were to "pot" a carp in front of them would they care? Naw, probably not cause it's just a trash fish. It's not real "game". You said gigging/bowfishing wasn't "catching" a fish. I believe it is DUDE.

How in the hell are you going to call ME out on this? I didn't start this, I'm throwing in MY opinion after at least 10 others have before me. I have just as much a right to say what I want as you do. But you're going to call me out on this? You're awesome, bro.

You are the one who started with the whole "catch" definitions here, bud. And yes, I believe you can catch a fish with a plastic bag, a pot or a pair of hemostats. Under correct circumstances you could catch a fish with just about anything dude. I love how you jump to the conclusion that you are going to win. Because I do have a point. And how do you know I'm not being original about my post?

Come on... Lets see them big fish you catch down here. I don't care what species it is. I just wanna see some pheesh! Maybe it's not even a big fish. Maybe you caught one that was so gorgeous you just couldn't pass up a photo. I'll start it off with one that I had a blast catching. Strippin a big slumpie on the back side of the island in the summertime. I have a picture of a HUGE bow from the gravel pits on my phone, I'll try and upload it later too.

I'm using 4x about 80% of the time. I fish 3x for streamers. 5x is slightly rare for me. I like to say I catch quite a few fish too. But, I don't have anything to compare that to seeing as nobody ever wants to fish with me haha (95% of my statistics are made up btw)

I'm gonna go ahead and say Biplane... Clearly that's the most conservative and peaceful method to catch fish. And Carp and Suckers are a game fish. They pull at the end of the line? That's game.

This is Zach's mom. I had a man offer to give me a G-Loomis Reel with an old line on it. The reciept in the box stated that in 2001 he had paid $71.00 for the reel it was new at the time. I would really appricate some help with this.

Also, where do you live at? There are clubs who do some tying classes and stuff like that for free. If you don't live too far away I'd be willing to teach you a few things too.

Hey there, all I use is a Bobbin, scissors and sometimes a dubbing pick. Of course I don't tie too many dries but you can get a hair stacker too. All in all I think I would spend 15$ there and then the vise. I don't use the rotation part too terribly much but it's kinda fun. And the only flies I really tie are Pheasant tails and hares ears variants. Some streamers too. You're not going to need many flies here.

I use Rio Fluoroflex. I don't have anything bad to say about it either. Something to think of is what knots you use. If you are using a cinch knot you could be using too many turns. I use some pretty basic knots. An orvis tippet knot which replaces a blood knot. And what I call a Davy knot, also heard it called a figure 8.

Everyone knows that "Polish Nymphing" is for the newbies. Man, you gotta step up to the big guys and get with the swiss nymphing! 17' Rods and 40' leaders! 15x tippet and size 4 nymphs. I'll show you next time we're together

But in the past 5 years I've lived here I've never seen them generate like this. They shut off at night, then one generator back on at day. I've seen them blow the place out, not run water for months through the winter, or just run it whenever they'd like.

Can someone shed some light as to why we've got at least one generator running almost non-stop? I mean, I haven't seen a considerable amount of rain in weeks. I don't think the Upper Illinois has a lot of water coming into it, at least not from what I've seen. The lake is down two foot. I just don't see any reason for the water to be running.

I fished down there a few times. I was fishing biot nymphs in the evening hole place long line and caught quite a few. There are plenty of fish in the entire system and were eager to eat when I was there. Be careful wading some of the faster areas though, I've taken a spill or two down there

No idea, probably just tired of people going down there and trashing their land.
