    Trout

anybody catch any trout accidentaly this summer on brittany?
  3. Well... there was that one time i was in a big hurry to get the boat back on the trailer cause everybody was waiting to launch so I just drove the boat on the trailer and didn't hook up the winch rope thinking I'll just pull it up into the parking lot and get out of everybodys way. I'd done that a time or two at other ramps but this ramp was just a smidge steeper so I jump in the truck, hit the gas and dump the boat right there on the ramp. I thought about just driving off and leaving it there I was so embarrassed. The guys that helped me put it back on the trailer were more amused than irritated, but still, you know...
  4. It was crazy today at the new Cabelas in Rogers but they had enough store personel on hand to handle the crowd. I was impressed with thier selection of flyting stuff. I was also surprised to see an old aquaintance working in the Flyfishing department; former Rogers mayor John Sampier. I bought a new flyrod, reel and flyline and can't wait to check out the rest of the store when the crowd thins out in a few weeks. Anybody else want to chime in on thier visit to the new Cabelas?
  5. wollybuggers for flyrod and countdown Rapalas for spinning
  6. If there is no generation there won't be much current, but the water is generally too deep from the 62 bridge to Houseman to wade. There are plenty of places to get out on the bank. I generally put my Yak in at Houseman and paddle upstream to the bridge then fish back to Houseman. Good deep pools and some shallower gravel bar areas. Plenty of trout. I've caught some decent size Rainbows and some of them have looked like wild fish with a brilliant deep pink stripe. My best was a 22" Brown from this stretch. Also there are some big Hybrids that cruise in pods of up to a dozen I see pretty often. I seem to hang more fish about 10 ft from the bank than I do fishing in the middle of the river. Good luck!

    Catfish

Thanks for the info. If we ever get enough rain for a decent "runoff" I'll try some feeders. Until then though I'm still catching Trout out of Brittany. Hate to see 'em go to waste.

    Catfish

I've tried Lomand, Ann, Windsor, Avalon and Brittany trying to catch catfish and can't get bit. Are there just not many catfish in those lakes?
