  1. Well I bought some and tried it out on a friends old kayak. IT WORKS GREAT !!!!!!!!!!! HANDY FOR ON THE GO REPAIRS
  2. Ok my matth was off I caught 8 not seven i used my go to lure. http://www.walmart.c...n-Shad/17619390 Screw the pros, I have bass hit it all day not just am/pm toos it right to the edge of any cover wait for the splash to settle and use short VERY SHORT jerks in a non repeating pattern . Pause often for a second or two. Most strikes happen between jerks. I been told this is NOT the right way to use this lure but IT WORKS. Also do youself a favor and use a good line. They will quickly go back into cover if you dont have the strength to to prevent it. 99% of the time I use only heddon lures. They dont break the bank and they work Good luck If ya see me out there paddle by and say howdy. LOOK FOR THE YAK WITH THE TEETH
  3. WHAT A SEASON SO FAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND I WILL SAY IT LOUD AND PROUD ALBERT WHO?
  4. no biggie I catch the bulk of them along the bank at the lake boat launch. Just put in, go left and fish along the right hand side up to where it makes a Y. Fish the center of that Y is a honey hole at times. Other wise I am out along the lilly pads searchin for them
  5. Headed to my "spot" on Springfield lake. Only had on hour to fish so the pressure was on. I caught 7 bass. 2 i didnt measure. 1-15 inch, 2- 17inch, 1-18 inch and the biggie for the day was just a squeek over 19 inches. I WILL BE THERE TOMORROW If the storms dont blow us away tonight lol.
  6. I wait also that would be awesome
  7. I also been catching a good amount of smallmouth on the James. Using a fly rod and some home tied top water flys. Now if I could only get a largemouth to hit on a fly rod THAT would be a fight.
  8. Springfield Lake, on a top water heddon torpedo. Frog pattern http://www.lonestartradingpost.com/heddon-torpedo-in-frog-scheme/ It was about 5 pm and I spotted some shad jummping like crazy. Tossed the lure into the missle of the school and did a few short jerks. (very short about 2 seconds apart) and wham. He hit it so hard he cleared the water. caught 4 more smaller bass along the rock cliff near the dam. The bass in the picture was caught about 30 yards south of the park boat launch. He is still there, I release all my fish unless they are injured and within legal limits.
  9. tonight I got a 17 incher THAT WAS FUN
  10. Well Friday sucked so bad at work, I decided to hit my favorite bass spot. Brought in 5 total in two hours and the best was this 15 incher. Man that was fun on ultra light equipment. I watched him swim away to fight another day.
  11. I trout fish not far from you and have done well there. As far as float trips, I dont know of any but sure want to go on a few. I been Bass fishing at my little "spot" at Springfield lake. going again tomorrow after work.
  12. I have owned my ascend fs10 for 9 weeks now. people who say they dont track good confuse me. Mine runs out dead straight. I am out a minimum of 2 times a week and have not not one issue other than the seat came apart. Bass pro gave me a new one with no grief at all.
  13. I hit my favorite honey hole at the lake and had over 25 topwater strikes and didnt get the hook set ONCE??? Yeah I always miss a few each time out but EVERY ONE this time?????? Well heading out again in the am to give it another go
  14. I own it and love it. tracks great and light. perfect for my needs. Well worth the money.

  16. Well this summer I have been having a blast top water bass fishing at springfied lake and the James river. I assume the fun is ending as the weather get colder. So my question is, what tips do you have for catching bass in the cold months. thanks for any advice
  17. Had my best outting yet hooked 11 bass landed 7 from 12-16 inch range. No worries I catch and release in hope of meeting them again someday
  18. Hello folks! I am a 50 year old Kayak rookie here in Springfield. I am out 2-3 times a week and the bass fishing from these little boats is AWESOME. I must admit I get a giggle out of landing fish in the areas that were long before off limits. Hope you are all having a great season, and hope to see ya out on the water. John
  19. if you wear waders, use the kind with a waist belt. These will not fill with water. Yes water will seep in but you got time to get outta trouble
  20. Oh I forgot to mention. I have custom fever, I will be posting pics of my mods. asap. Now back out to the garage for some tinkering
  21. I am a 50 year old rookie kayak owner. I live in Springfield and just love the hobby. Can't wait for the weekend to hit the water yet again.
  22. First of all I am 50 years old and a first time kayak owner. I bought the ascend fs10. tracking is NOT an issue. I can paddle it with little efffort. When I "coast" it holds a straight line. I can store enough gear to bass fish and fly fish, with room to spare. It's easy to load and carry. (even with a bum shoulder) My first day out, I was in it for over 6 hrs. The seat was very comfortable. I know I am "new" to this hobby, but I love this little thing. Heck, my buddy who is a kayak veteran, said "this thing is awesome" You'll find me every weekend, out reeling in the fish I could only dream about getting to before!
