  1. You will!!! Will have to look you up....but probably will not be until late Spring...usually come down over Easter but have booked a Norfork / White River trip. I have never been on the Norfork and the White only once, so thought I would try it. The 11 point is still my favorite, and always will be!!! Will be on the 11 point camping for a week over Memorial Day (as was last year). Then, will make it down about once a month until November. Again, job duties kind of restrict me!!!
  2. ...A am still jealous, Brian, no matter the temperature!!! ...A am still jealous, Brian, no matter the temperature!!!
  3. Enjoyed the reading Al and I may have been on that same college float trip years ago. The fishing is good on the 11 point !!! Where the Current is your favorite, I believe, to catch trout...the 11 point is my favorite. There are so many holes that do not get fished for one who wades the river. I enjoy standing in the river watching boats drive or drift past in a hurry to get to the next hole while I make a few casts in what must seem to them to be fishless water. Where Brian likes to fish Greer and below, I like to fish Turner and below with most time spent above Riverton. I am from the same area as you, Al, and about the same age...SEMO...and if I am not mistaken, the 11 point held no trout back in those days.
  4. I spent 2 nites camping on the on a gravel bar in the white ribbon area with a couple of friends October 21-23rd. The weather was great and the fishing was very good. Waded up and down from the campsite fot 1 1/2 hours at a time and caught plenty of fish. The canoe traffic was slow so we pretty much had the river to ourselves for the weekend. Love to filet a few and fry them up using Andys! Had a very nice fish hooked but lost him due to my error. We seem to be some of the only ones to wade and fish from what i have seen over the years.
  5. thanks Brian... I usually fish the white ribbon area and will start checking the anal fin. See ya on the river...but not until Easter. Thanks again!
  6. Brian....I have read many of your fishing reports and see that you refer to "wild trout" quite often. I fish the 11 point 5-6 times a year and have caught many trout. My question to you is ...how can I tell if I have caught a wild trout and what exactly do you mean by a wild trout??? thanks...snap
  7. Have you ever had problems with the critters showing up at your campsite while sleeping? If so, a friend an I have found a great way to keep them away. All one has to do is place onions and garlic cloves on top of coolers and other items where food is stored. For some unknown reason, the raccoons have become extinct at our campsite. We have come to use this method regularly and has not let us down yet!
