back home we use to use the left over fish for crawfish bait. we use to catch well over 50 crawfish at one time then we use those craw fish for bait on the great mississippi river.

I think someone needs to go and learn how to fish all over again. Do you want me to teach you how to fish Bill?? Heck I'm from MN and they have great fishing too. This lake some what reminds me of being way up north in MN. The fishing is great and guess what Ill sit in one spot for hours if I want to but thats not how I fish. Maybe you should try to to river fishing where you can catch fish on every cast. Ive seen some huge muskies caught on this lake and I caught some big walleye, crappie and bass as well and its close to home. I think Im done with this, its getting pointless to say something about someone who is bitter about this lake. Hey Bill, I bet there are some stocking tanks around that you can fish and have your limit right away, just don't get caught by the dnr for tresspassing.

I thought about going out this morning but not sure where to go. So I chose fellows, I have no boat so I had to fish from shore. The frist spot was great! The first fish I caught was a 29inch muskie then the 2nd fish I caught was another muskie but smaller. About half hr after that I started to catch some crappies as well. After not catching any more fish for a while I went down to fish under the bridge thats when I started catching bass. Smallest bass was 18 inches biggest bass was 23 inches. I was using a yellow and black spinner with a gold blade. It was a great day out, I think I'm going back when I have time. Oh I have pics but I need to figure out how to get them off my phone.

just off the shore, i was using a trout magnet, its a small jig head with a plastic body to it, the color was orange and red. they seemed to be hitting it as soon as it hit the water. went out again this late morning and caught only 7 of them.

Was out this late morning and again I was catching a bunch of crappies around the 16 inch mark. It was kinda windy but the bite was still on. Saw some guys haul in some nice bass as well.

you know honesty i guess i didn't even pay any attention. sadly this is the only pic before my cam died. i'm not huge into crappie fishing heck i normally don't even target crappies that much. i wouldn't even know the difference if it did or not. why would it matter if it did? just a question.

The crappie bite is starting to come on. These two hit the jig as soon as it hits the water. I caught 4 more around this size. I was using mr twister on a silver jig head. I can say they are hanging around the weeds.

went out this morning at 545 and caught 11 crappies over 14 inches, was a good morning until the sun came up. i also caught 3 bass at the same spot where i caught the crappies.

so we are getting a much needed rain it looks like, just wondering how much it will change things for fishing.

it seemed like it today, saw some boats out there when i drove past.

caught around 20 cats around the 1 pound range the other night. was kinda disappointed because i wanted to take some cats home but not that small. i was using beef liver and hotdogs soaked with grape jello.

sorry i must of told a secret about fishing is better when they start bow hunting. ya i seen the deer down here and i know i wouldnt be shooting anything that comes close to whats on my wall down here unless you pay alot of money to do it. i love the fact that some fishing is all yr around down here.

im going to hit it real hard tonight after dinner some time. i bet ill catch at least 2 bass, ill post what i catch.

are you nuts?! have you seen the deer around here, you might as well go play with mice! the fishing will get better and when its hunting time, thats when the fishing will pick up, the better fishing is in the fall.

that bridge is hot some days, i like fishing under that. i catch tons of bass under it. i found a great crappie hole 200 yards down from that bridge as well. i only catch 4 of them but you can see alot more in that hole, i just couldnt get the rest to bite. if you wanna meet down there some time in the morning i would be up for it.

go under the bridge and walk on the side of the dam and throw lures down to where the water goes into the pool. i normally catch real nice smallies and largies down there, even some crappie.

any news about fishing at springfield? i hope with this cooler weather something has to be a bit different.
