last night there were 7 jug lines out on lake springfield. i saw them when i was going accross the bridge going for a walk with the family. there were three guys on a boat about 50 yards from them fishing off the bottom for cats, they were basicly under the bridge so i yelled down to them if those were theirs they said yes i told them that you cant have those in here they said mind your f---ing business. i called the dnr and they just told me to come back in 2 hrs and if they were still there to call them back. hmmm, i guess if they aren't worried about it then nobody else should, heck who wants to bring their boats out there even if they have 125 horses on it, they won't care.

has anybody fished for cats around the ozark park? it looks like it would be a good place to catch some cats, but has anybody done it? if so are there some big cats in or just average sized?

ok.....maybe nobody likes it or its to much money. im going to drop it to 75. i just need to get rid of it. It belongs on someones wall and not in the basement in a box. let me know. -
awsome.... at least someone has luck fishing in this weather. from where you put in straight across the river i caught alot of smallies and every time i go fish down in that area theres a huge carp that swims around close to the top of the water. i love fishig right below the dam because you normally catch some big smallies, ive caught a few large mouth too. oh well looks like i need to head there tomorrow when i have time before it gets dark.

anything that anybody catches makes mine look tiny, i swear i catch alot of cats but they are all babies, i guess i tend to find the holes with them in it. oh well fish is a fish when all you do is want to catch fish.

Would You Support This Legislation?

im new to the state and i was shocked to see how cheep it was to get a fishing license, i say bring up the price 2 or 3 bucks and raise the trout stamp some also. i believe that something has to be done but not for extra taxing, its hard to find a place to take my kids fishing with all the stuff that happens on most rivers or streams down here. even raise the fine if some one throws trash on the banks of the streams or rivers. -

even though it doesn't matter, but when you call the tip line and if they catch the people, do they give you any money for calling them in? i know in minnesota they do. -

sorry its gone, ive tried to delete this but i cant for some reason. anybody have any ideas? -
Im going to try tonight at the ozark park while the wife and the kids are playing at the park. I normally catch a few bass there we will see what happens tonight this time Im going to bring y cam with so what ever I catch Ill have pics of. The way I see it you cant catch fish in your house sitting on the couch, you might as well be out there throwing something at them. You get a bite or catch fish great but at least you have your freedom to be outside and do these things.

Two ways i rig it are 1).Weightless - You will be able to find several hooks for targeting fish in weeds and other vegetation. If you want to keep the bait at or near the surface with a slower more deliberate retrieve use and unweighted EWG style hook and rig Texas style like a worm (Owner Wide Gap Plus 6/0 are best). This is my preferred shallow technique covering weed flats and boulder flats and shallow stump fields. 2)Weighted Hook – Another popular hook style is a weighted EWG or a nose screw lock hook. These hooks have varying amounts of lead molded onto the hook shank. Increasing the amount of weight will allow you to fish the bait at a faster speed or great depth if that’s what the fish want. This is a great way to hit deeper weed edges, ledges and submerged structure.

i love the zoom super fluke swim baits, ive caught plenty of fish on them. i keep on using them over and over and dont need to buy them all the time, if they get tore up i use super glue and that works like a gem to fix them.
-
when i use the horny toad i always bring 2 packs and a small thing of super glue. saves money on the toads, unless they take out the legs on it. it works perfectly so you can keep on fishing when they dry and trust me they dry with in 10 mins.

thanks i might have to try that, i caught some big small mouths and large mouths down there where the water falls into the pool but thats all. I was using some big baits so I dought the crappies wouldnt bite on those if they were there.

so i went fishing for cats or anything at lake springfield above the dam this morning and all i had was bites and one little sunny. these guys came there and right away they were catching channel cats, guess i was in the wrong spot but anyways the cats they were catching were no more the 11 inches and they kept every single one of them. sorry i tend to keep the ones that are you know 3 lbs or more if i were to keep some for eating. i was just shocked these guys were keeping these small fish. if you were to keep the cats how big are your keepers? -
does anybody catch any crappies around the park? also if you got into a boat are there any good places up stream from the park for crappies, if so what are you using? thanks.

im new to fishing here in missouri and i think i read it right. when you say use blue gills, you have to catch them in that lake in order to use them for bait right? if your using shad that needs to be from that lake as well or can you catch it from a river and cut it up then use for bait? i know where i came from it depends on the lake of what you can us or not. thanks for the info, i might need to take my daughter out fishing one of these nights. -
what are they checking? have you guys been getting phone calls to donate 25 bucks towards the sheriffs department? i get them on a daily basis. from what i was reading from above why would anybody donate money if they pull this crap? maybe ill just stay away from there till its all calm. thanks for the info

I never been there but it seems good to me. Does anybody know any updates on this issue. I did see it on the news a month ago but it seems they were still fighting it. If theres still a problem, lets get everybody and head down there. We will see if the county will tell us to leave or just let us fish. I would hate for someone to lose their jobs after all of this. Thanks for the info.

Im towards table rock, well i love in ozark. i will have to check that out thanks. I didt even know there was a site for it. Seems alot of people tournament fish down here. Thanks for the info

Hey I moved down here from up north were the hunting is alot better up there then down here for the size of deer. I have my wall mounts and i swear if I come home with another one my wife might shoot me, this is the reason why I wanna let my muzzle loader go. I am selling it for 200 or best offer or trade for some bass lures or gear. Its a 45 cal BPI- CONNECTICUT VALLEY ARM KODIAK MAGNUM. Its a sharp little gun that can knock down a deer at 200 yards. I have ammo and back powder for it as well as the soft case too. I have pics but I would have to send it to your email I cant put them on here for some reason. Thanks!
