  1. Time again for my family's yearly trek to Beaver Lake (We have a family cabin on the water in Ventris Cove). These trips are always fun and relaxing, but at the same time frustrating because our lack of a fishing boat (unless you count the 8 foot battery powered one). Since I have never had much success fishing from the shore, I was wanting some info or tips on jug lines and trot lines for catfishing. I hope I can achieve some success! Thanks for any information (I am constantly checking out the daily reports even though I don't have the opportunity to use much of the information provided.), and I hope everyone has fun and stays safe. PS - I caught a new PG largemouth in a small central Kansas lake -7lbs 6oz
  2. OK guys, I am packing up my gear and ready to head out to Beaver. After going to the NWA Naturals game on Monday I imagine I will be on the lake often, I have my drop shot gear ready to go ( we will see if I can pick up this new technique for me). Any other last minute tid bits.......like I said before, I am used to shallow stained Kansas lakes, so we will see if I can catch anything. When I return I will post some pictures, hopefully ones that dont make you all fall out of your chairs laughing.
  3. I will be fishing at Beaver in 6 days. I am very excited to enjoy my favorite place to relax. My question today is - Are there any smallies in Beaver? Thanks folks!
  4. I don't hunt, but I have some buddies that do.....
  5. I think I will have to plan a trip during October......I bet it is beautiful at that time of year.
  6. You guys have been very helpful! I stepped down from coaching basketball this year so I may have time to visit again in October or November.
  7. Hi - I am going to one of my favorite vacation spots, Beaver Lake, in 3 weeks. I have been pretty successful fishing in Kansas but never at Beaver, other than some gar and cats on jugs. Our cabin is in the Ventris Cove area and I was wondering if you all had some tips for me to have a more successful fishing attempt at Beaver. PS I fish for pretty much any species, so anything you can help me with will be much appreciated. Thank you!!!
