Why? Because it was awesome. I was in El Centro, CA, the Imperial Valley. Every irrigation canal is full of bass and catfish. This time of year dove season is in full swing. You'll kill a limit in 30 minutes or less if you know the right place to be in. Also the ducks and geese are starting to arrive. I had one little honey hole that you could count on it having 200 ducks or more in every morning and evening. Find a mud puddle and you'll find 20 ducks sitting in it. Find any good hay field near one of the few and hidden small lakes, and you'll be shooting snow and Canadian geese all day long. Not to mention all the pheasants and cottontails you'll find in those hay fields. Take an hour ride out of the valley into the mountains and you will find lakes filled with rainbows, and deer every where. Spent 8 years there while working for Lockheed and Dyncorp, and loved every minute of it.
