  1. Anyone know how much Ice is on the lakes? I'm hoping to get out there my first week of break
  2. I live in chesterfield and fish for trout at Busch wildlife almost every weekend in winter. I am new to fly fishing and need to know what flys to try out here. Any ideas?
  3. 8 fish is a good day on creve coeur. I haven't ever caught that many or heard of anyone catching that many. Maybe the bass population is increasing
  4. Ok thanks will do. I'm starting to figure out a pattern. Today I caught a few decent bass and one nice one out of the shade in the back of my dock. It is right near an 8 foot drop off so maybe when they aren't looking for shade the will be holding on that. I'll keep working on it
  5. Anyone know what the bass are biting on and where? I'm here at the lake for a week and would like to do a lot of bass fishing.
  6. Yea from my experiences most lakes that are near the Missouri or mississippi have been flooded into at least once and taken over by trash fish. Same with lakes near creeks that connect with these rivers. From now on I will probably avoid them
  7. I'm sure that is a grass carp, catch those out of the Osage all the time
  8. I fished two of these lakes over the weekend. My brother and I each caught bass out of the first pond near the skate park using spinnerbaits and swimbaits. Didn't have much luck at the big lake by the highway, but didn't stay long enough to give it a real effort. We came to These lakes because fishing at 370 park was a disappointment, there is carp everywhere and probably very low numbers, if any bass in that lake.
  9. That sounds like a good plan, I'll check out both stores. Thanks
  10. I am staying at tan-tar-a resort on the lake and have been fishing non stop. Iv been focusing on two main areas to catch bass and that is a main lake points and the end of wind blown docks. For lures I have been using football head jigs off the points and small spinnerbaits off the docks and they will work anywhere else. Would recommend roostertails because they match the size of the baitfish running around this time of year. All my fishing has been done from shore and iv done very well so I would say the bass are biting good right now if you can locate them, and use the right lures.
  11. Yea gas money and maybe some extra money I can put towards fishing gear. But I'll check out some bait shops. Thanks
  12. My sixteenth birthday Is coming up in a few months and I was wondering if there were any jobs out there relating to fishing that someone my age could get. Any suggestions?
  13. That is what I have been thinking but The mouth just seems to big! Next time I catch one I will see if the jaw goes past the eye of the fish.
  14. Some of the bass I catch in my neighborhood pond are different from normal. They have a tooth patch on their tongue and very light, reddish brown eyes. I took a picture of one and posted it. Is this some kind of hybrid?
  15. Haha thanks and that is very true fishinwrench
  16. Because of my family's busy schedule, unfortunately the LOZ tourney isn't going to work out right now. However I am going to fish behind my dads friend who is a very competitive bass fisherman in a decent sized tournament on Kentucky lake. This should be a good experience for be since its my first one. Also thanks for all the good info I will use it next time I am at the lake
  17. I have my first bass tournament coming up in mid june on LOZ. I need to know what stage the bass are in, where to fish, and what to use. Thanks!
  18. You could try frog fishing on top of the moss or a spinnerbait just under the surface in clear areas
  19. Thanks for the info! And that overland lake sounds awesome how do I get permission to fish it?
  20. I went out on Sunday for an hour on lake six and caught some crappie off the dam. There was so many people fishing there I didn't bother working my way around the lake for bass
  21. All I know about fish stockings at Busch besides trout is in the catfish lakes. Once a month they put in a bunch of eater sized channel cats. Not sure if they have started that yet
  22. Today I was bass fishing in my neighborhood lake noticed for the first time that many of the bass in there couldn't be normal largemouth. The first thing I noticed about some of them was The eye color. They were the reddish brown color spotted bass always have. The second thing I noticed was the different looking ones always had a tooth patch on their tongue which isn't normal for largemouth. Could it be possible these bass are largemouth/spotted bass hybrids?
  23. Ok I will try near the dam first. And yea I have also heard rumors like that. I might try minnows from the bait shop to see if they want live bait
  24. Also where in the lake will the Muskies be and what will they bite on? I'm new To this
  25. When will the boats be back in?
