Fellas, Thanks for the response. Since they weren't generating, we were able to wade everyday. We didn't have to worry about floating it. -R

I'm headed to the LRR this week. If they are running two units, is it worth my time to try to float from JFK, or should I just wait for the water to subside? Thx. -R

Many thanks to LRF for his posts and PMs. I was able to fish the LRR this week, but the water generation afforded very few opportunities to wade. My lesson learned is to acquire a boat when that much water is being released. It's amazing how quickly it will rise above my waders ... When the water level was wadeable, we were able to land a couple of fish. -R

Is driving to the Spring worth me making a three hour drive on Monday, or has the water been blown out? If so, can anyone recommend a wading access point? Thanks. -R

Has anyone figured out what the problem is with the Tapatalk app connecting to Ozark Anglers? The app works fine for other forums of which I'm a member, but I haven't been able to acces this one for a few weeks. It's probably just me, as I'm technologically challenged ...

Does anyone have any fly choices or techniques for coaxing largemouth to hit flies during the winter? I hit some farm ponds over the holidays, and I had some success on Clousers and other baitfish imitations, but I was consistently out fished by my Dad with his crank baits. Yes, I know they are considered "warm water" species for a reason, but I love the feeling of a largemouth slamming my fly. Otherwise, I'm stuck freezing in a deer stand. Cold. Rainy. Nevertheless, we disregarded the weather, the cold in our bones and the ridicule from our families for fishing in such conditions. We offered zebra midges, soft hackle and egg patterns. The bite was fairly consistent, with decent action, so we caught a few nice Browns.

Baking soda, warm water and an old/soft toothbrush work for me. I've heard of folks coating the cork with oil afterwards, but I've never gone that far.

Thanks to Uncle Sam, I have been living in the Northwest (AK and WA) for the last several years. I'm headed back to the South for the holidays (maybe some fishing and hunting), and I ran across this forum while researching fishing possibilities. I'm a member of several forums in the NW, but its nice to read the Southern hospitality and drawls coming through the posts ... folks aren't quite so congenial on other forums. I've camped, fished and hiked around the Ozarks since college, and I love avoiding the in-laws by playing outdoors. Thanks for letting me join, and Happy Holidays. -R
