I don't care about Tackle HD. It's just some of those guys who post the stuff that annoys me the most. I'm not really even sure who all of them are... I usually just read and leave it at that. I should probably leave it at that all the time. lol

Thanks for reminding me Seth. YES, LET GUYS FIGURE IT OUT ON THEIR OWN! That was always one of my main points. What does anyone have to gain by handing out information? More people fishing in their areas? Who can honestly say they want that? If you are a good angler, then that should be enough, you shouldn't have to seek additional praise and confirmation of your skills by bragging about your catches to the masses on the message boards or by handing out info to the masses who actually need to put out a little effort of their own that doesn't involve going to a message board. If you're a guy who has worked hard to come by his fishing knowledge over the years, with lots of trial and error, I don't have the least idea why it would be worth it to you to just turn that knowledge over to people you don't even know. Make them earn it! I will help out a few guys that I know and trust, IF they ask me, but that's about it. But to each their own.

Sorry I interrupted the ozark anglers forum love fest. I forgot that we live in the most politically correct society ever and people easily get their feelings hurt. Everyone and everything is awesome!! (as long as they post it) That better? trythisonemv - I think the point I made about the forum being "public" is more valid than yours, but that's up to everyone's own opinion. Wait, maybe it isn't on here if their opinion doesn't agree with others. But either way, you are not the boss of me.
-
Seth, All I did was ask a question. look back at the thread. Hardly deserves getting swarmed upon by a certain forum click like hungry smallmouth after Al's homemade walk the dog topwater. If you are going to post your fishing results on a PUBLIC forum then you have to be willing to take the good comments and the not so good. Since Hog gets about 200 pats on the back for every one whitesnoop post, I'd say that's pretty good. I wasn't even talking to you or Mitch but you have the right to comment and that's cool. From reading your posts you seem like a pretty good dude. Mitch however, I don't care for the way he addresses me.
-
If a guy calls you the Kevin Vandam of river fishing, I guess you need to have his back. And I'm not busting balls. Just making an observation that continuous bragging about results that aren't that great gets old. Then I get called unintelligent for that? ...... who's busting balls??
-
Also, I didn't realize there was an unwritten rule that you have to be impressed by 50+ fish on a week day with perfect weather. Thanks Mitch. Now I know and will be much more impressed in the future.
-
Sorry Mitch. I wish I was more intelligent. You have to give me some slack. I don't have the advantage of knowing "The Master" Al Agnew.
-
My bad... you did say over 50 fish. I short changed you a little
-
50 fish is a "banner day"?
-
Looks like "Angler of the Year" race is all but decided
-
Great idea Sg87 ! Throwing spots on the bank = bad karma Advantage Chief

Alright guys. I was probably a bit out of line at times. I owe some people some apologies. Al, Mitch, Hog....I'm sorry, never meant for this to get personal. I don't want this stuff to get too real. It's fishing. I had my say, and I don't want to cause any real problems or get any threads shut down or anything like that. I'm going to watch some NCAA basketball and forget about fishing for a bit. And just for the record, largemouth alliance is not me. Hope we all catch them good this year.
-
No, no. it's not about me, or trying to sell baits, or pics. None of that stuff. Young anglers out there: Just remember to THINK FOR YOURSELF! Don't rely on self promoted message board experts for your fishing info. Just because someone can operate a computer or has been fishing for years, can post a pic, catch a bass, get public accolades and ego strokes from their friends online, doesn't mean that they are the elite anglers. Develop your own style. You will never get better than these message board pros by following in their footsteps, which means you are cheating yourself. I'm no trying to say that any of these individuals are bad guys or sub par fisherman, no, they are great guys I'm sure and they obviously know how to catch fish. They love the same thing we all do. But once in a while it might not be a bad thing to hear a different viewpoint from a different perspective. So, I threw some stuff out there.

Fish and be happy. That's what i try to do But smallieguy87, to answer your question from earlier, there's nothing wrong with constantly posting pics of big fish you have caught on the craw or any other bait - it's just annoying. I know I haven't produced a picture of this 20 inch smallmouth and therefore risk never reaching guru status. So, I will retract the statement. "I did not catch a 20 inch smallmouth recently ". Instead, I developed a 13 step fishing program to help myself deal with my frustrations and feelings of inferiority. All kidding aside, I do hope you get that 20, but don't get too hung up on it. There's nothing wrong with 12-19 inchers

I don't know much about paddlefish, or any other kind of fishing. I really only fish for bass on streams, if I had more time to fish, maybe I would do some other kinds of fishing, but realistically, I would most likely just do more stream bass fishing. lol. Sounds like stream fishing is just part of all of your outdoor activities so maybe that's why some of those things don't bother you as much. It's my passion however. Sometimes I wish I was a more well rounded outdoorsmen, maybe when I retire. I don't catch 20 inchers all the time. I just happened to catch one a couple weekends ago. Seems like there were more of them around in the 1990's, but I don't know. Those paddlefish are beasts though
-
One 20 incher Seth, not 20 inchers (plural) I wish
-
Seth...didn't mean to sound like an arrogant jerk with that comment, but you kinda called me out. lol
-
If you don't know that you can catch fish on a topwater this time of year then you need to spend less time messing with your go pro and more time honing your skills
-
Seth- Everything you stated was true. I think I saw one of your videos and you were on bigger water. Most of my fishing is on smaller to medium size water where fish aren't used to boats zooming over their heads and there is too much water to get a bait around the majority of fish. But if your fishing a wading stream or small to medium sized float stream and someone is fishing ahead of you, well, I'm not going to say you can't still catch some fish, but it's probably not worth your time. Which is no one's fault (even though in this thread I kind of chose to blame it on Al. lol). But still very frustrating when you don't get to fish as much as you like and then your day kind of gets ruined by factors out of your control, such as other stream traffic. I think that's the difference between most of us river guys and the tournament lake guys. We go fishing to get AWAY from people. I would almost rather see an otter when I go on the river than a person... well, that might be a little extreme

Alright guys.....very funny Fish was caught in Missouri on a non homemade walk the dog topwater. I can't release the picture because I wasn't wearing my shirt with all my sponsors on it. Haha
-
You got me there JoeD. lol I can't argue with the evidence you have presented. I care. All of us on here do. Hog Wally....nothing personal man. I mean that sincerely. I may have went a little too far with the 13 steps
-
No you didn't. I don't care if you sell millions of HD craws. Honestly I don't.
-
No, they are hungover from drinking the HD kool aid all week. So they are sluggish
-
Nope. Took care of that two Sundays ago. But yeah, I do need another one. They tend to be a lot more tight lipped on the weekends though
-
13 steps to Missouri stream success and possible stardom: 1. Read all of Al Agnew's posts (soak up knowledge like a sponge) 2. See if Mitch will give you private crankbait fishing lessons 3. Stare for hours at Hog Wally's big smallmouth 4. Hit the Meramec 5. Throw Midge Oreno 6. Throw HD craw 7. Bring a camera 8. Post pics and info (don't forget Facebook) 9. Thank everyone who helped you make it happen (don't forget your camera man). Sign autographs 10. Use your newly acquired status to get some sponsors 11. Sell out and hit the lake tournament trail 12. Throw HD craw around docks 13. Bassmaster Classic Baby!! I know 12 steps is more traditional, but you can't take shortcuts to becoming an outstanding angler......well with the exception of step one
