  1. Looks like I will be seeing you and your staff in the morning then!
  2. Well hello fellow OAF members! It's been a while since I've posted on here but here goes nothing. I'm pleased to see that the shad are finally coming through the dam. Having personal experience with BS dam shad kill, I'm excited to say the least at what this opportunity has to offer. I'm planning on taking a friend down to fish off the docks near the U.S. 65 bridge. I know the powerbait combos, but does anyone know where I might locate some minnows to hook up? I will be back again on Monday with more friends to throw the fly-rods around (since it's a holiday and that means "fun day" for me!). Any advice on either of these subjects for increased enjoyment and success? As always, I'll see you all on the water!
  3. Now that work has begun to slow down for me, and there are no classes tomorrow, I believe that this is Natures way of say, "Please go catch some fish". I believe that I will begin the morning below the dam with my fly-rod and end at the branson landing bait fishing in the afternoon. anyone have some recent information to make sure I have an extra-productive day? I know midges are working well and air injected night crawlers or Powerbait combos of white-pink or white orange work well. Conditions are clear and call for very light line. Anything else I'm forgetting my fishermen friends? I've been out of this great sport for far too long.
  4. If the Map hyperlink acts funny, just hop on the maps link to the left of Babler's report. Then, click on the first map that says Big M to Viney Creek. That's the best map of the area that I have found.
  5. MakinMoves, I am a manager at Big M Marina. Make sure you stop in if y'all need a boat or anything while you are fishing. I know that we should would appreciate your patronage. In regards to the fishing, if you head south from the marina and take a right into the first cove/hollow, also known as Berris Hollow, this is probably your best bet for fishing. There are 2 big brush piles that anglers pull crappie and HUGE bass out of. I have provided you with a map so you have a general idea of where I'm speaking of http://www.ozarkanglers.com/table-rock/files/2011/09/big_m.pdf . If you want to know what's working I recommend Bill Babler's report. Here is this weeks report http://www.ozarkanglers.com/table-rock/2013/04/02/bablers-table-rock-lake-patterns-april-2-7-2013/#more-886. If I can help you with anything else, just let me know! I look forward to hearing your reports, and more importantly, Success!
  6. Thank you Devin and Wayne! It should be a good time tomorrow.
  7. Tomorrow, I am headed down to Taney to fly-fish for my first time ever. Lucky for me, I will have one of my good amigos that is in the exact same situation. I'm very new to all of this, so I need to know what's working so I can make this successful for both of us. I have always been successful with the spinning rod here, but I'm ready to take the excitement to a whole new level. Anyone have any suggestions?
  8. Phil, that article was very informative and helpful. Thank you so much for posting that and thank you to everyone for commenting back. I hope I get the chance to get back on Taneycomo very soon and catch more trout!
  9. I hear so many people talk about using the jig and float rig effectively on Taneycomo. What's the secret? How do I rig this trout-slaying contraption? How do I fish it? I would love to hear some insight from Mr. Lilley since he talks about it in the fishing reports alot. I'm hoping to use this (if it's a good approach) sometime this weekend in my endeavors down from Springfield. I would appreciate anyones expertise in this area.
  10. Those guys are great, and I will be sure to take you up on that soon! Thank you!
  11. I bet. I would like to get into the flyfishing side of things. I just need the know how and someone to teach me what the heck I'm doing.
  12. Ducky, What were you using last night? Your my hero for sticking out out through that rain. It was nothing but a wet, snowy mess in Springfield last night. Alas, it all melted before noon today, so what do I have to complain about?
  13. Well, I arrived at Branson rv park around 2 pm. I fished off of the dock closest to the 65 Bus Bridges. Casting out into the channel, I caught at least 8 rainbows all under 14 inches and 1 sucker. I was using air-injected nightcrawlers under a white powerbait egg on a #6 hook. I had many more bites than fish landed, It just seemed as though the fish were more concerned with jostling the bait, instead of ingesting it. All in all, It was alot of fun for less than 3 hours of fishing.
  14. Im hoping to sneak down to Taney this afternoon before Valentines Day and the really cold weather this weekend gets here. Apparently its frowned upon to fish tomorrow according to the little woman. I hope I have good things to report this evening!
  15. My name is Lucas Kill and I am a student studying Entertainment Management at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. Whenever I get an opportunity for some free-time outside of the classroom, you can be sure to find me wading in either the James or Finley Rivers. If extra time allows, I really enjoy fishing the docks of Taneycomo or finding new holes on Table Rock. A BIG "Thank You" goes out to Phil Lilley for posting his very informative Taneycomo reports, which lead me to joining this site! I'm also currently in the process of moving summer jobs to Big M's Marina near Cassville/ Mano, MO. I would love to get some insight into the area and the fishing that this opportunity presents. I hope to get to know you all very soon!
