Sorry about the wrong number or trout stocked, added an extra zero. Fished mostly below Tan Vat and caught 12 in three hours. Very good morning. I will say if you want to get good fishing in you have to fish late/early. The fishing died with the heat, sun, and floaters ending my day. Hatch was going on all day and fished caddis and did very well with them. Only my second time for fishing the Current, first time at Tan Vat. Really impressed me. 11 Rainbows 1 Brown. 2 Bows over 15

What is the river like right now? Plan on heading down tomorrow. I heard they stocked 30,000 browns from 10"-12" range a couple of days ago. Any advice on what to use and where to go. Plan on fishing the area from Tan Vat to Baptist if it is not to crowded.

I'm heading up to the Boyne, Little Manistee, and Jordan rivers during July. Any advice for them or is it about the same everywhere?

"Boy Scouts" around here is not outdoors at all. I did it for a year and went on a hike around my school and that was the only time we went outside

That's what I've heard. Now my buddy wants to do smallmouth this weekend... Haven't caught a trout in 6 weeks. Oh well. Hopefully I can convince him how great the Current is. Wish me luck

Heading down to the Current tomorrow afternoon. Plan on fishing the area between tan Vat and baptist if it isn't too crowded. Any suggestions? Haven't fished this area that much but I am very excited.

I live in STL and have a cabin on the Mearmec. I'm about tired of floaters. Every single weekend I go down there they're always up to something. Oh well. About the Gasconade, I rarely run into traffic the times I've been there. My dad has a "secret spot" for the fall and winter that is just LOADED with trophy smallmouth. He's caught plenty of 20+ inch fish out of the hole. But ever since I started trout fishing, more of my winter involves chasing them. Too many fish not enough time.

I haven't been to the Gasconade in years. I went there once with my dad and it changed my life. I discovered trophy smallmouth bass and never looked back. I must have caught 10 small mouth over 16 inches. Is this the way it still is? We fished right under the bridge where the Little Piney comes in. Usually fish the Mearmec River and love it. Gasconade is a long haul. Is it worth it?

I didn't find smallmouth fishing that tough last summer. Another thing that hurt was the clarity of the water. Lower size line meant more broken fish which led to more heartbreak and curse words.

How do you think all of this rain this month will affect fishing this season? It's funny how we had a drought last year and roaring rivers this year. Hope it makes for a great summer.

Sunday would be the day to go. Fished there two weekends ago it was still a little high. I'm ready for some steady flows and clear water again. Getting real tired of this winter/spring weather. Needs to make up its mind

Follow up on my trip. My Dad decided to call a guide at the last minute to show us around. Threw a lot of patterns including multiple midges, scuds, stoneflies, and nymphs. Finally decided to switch to an egg and caught 2, missed a bunch. Slow day for the most part but it was beautiful water and I can't wait until the dry fly bite heats up a little bit.
