  1. I haven't fished Ann many times but I have never done very well for bass. It looks great but I have yet to figure them out. Any top water action?
  2. Fished from 10-3 today. Water was up and a bit stained from the rains. Temp was right around 70 everywhere. Started very slow and got better as the day went on. Square bill, pop r and senko accounted for all fish today. The fish seem confused to me. Not on their typical post spawn locations. Need a week of stable warm weather and everything should be back to normal. Caught about 30 with 6 nice fish up to 3lbs. Lots of little guys in between.
  3. There are no bream in Norwood. I wouldn't even bother trying, plus it is a real pain to put a boat in there. Lots of other easier options. Breeves, what does your boat look like? I was in the white Lowe. We caught a few of the endangered bluegill today. Had to stick and move a bunch but worked up a fair mess.
  4. Love the Redear. Unfortunately that was the only one we caught. It was a nice one though. Does anyone have any tips to better target the elusive shell cracker?
  5. Thought I would try to put a couple of pictures in.
  6. Went to one of the smaller lakes today and killed them. If you like perch jerking you should get out now. Found several clusters of beds today. Great opportunity to take a kid in the next week or two it should be lots of action. Bobber and a cricket 2-5 ft deep. Back to bass fishing tomorrow.
  7. Water temp got to 69 by 5pm. Lots of fish on beds but harder to catch today. Caught about 40 total with biggest at 2lbs. Better numbers but smaller fish today. Lots of Ned fish today, that thing is hard to put down. Bigger fish were around docks with 10ft of water out front. Senko, keitech and Ned accounted for all fish. I think you could have caught fish on anything you decided to throw.
  8. Got out for about 4 hours this afternoon. Water temp 64-66. Looked like some sort of algae bloom had happened. Some water looked good some looked muddy. I'm not used to seeing it look like that. Caught about 24 with the biggest 3.5. Best 5 would have gone 11-12. Caught several bed fish and my very first Ned fish. Most came 8-10 ft deep on plastics. Never really dialed it in today just one here and one there. Back for more tomorrow and all next week.
  9. The only bait I have seen there is around those solar bees. I see bass busting them in the warmer months. They can be caught by staying off a bit and letting the senko drift down for maybe a 10 count. Catch 1-2 one one and move to the next one.
  10. Yes. Most were in that range. I did come unbuttoned on a better one but never saw it. Saw a few beds but none had fish on them. Talked to a gentleman who was doing the same thing we were doing and said he was catching better quality fish last week. Story of my fishing life "You shoulda been here last week".
  11. Fished from about 1pm until 6. Me and partner caught about 50 bass. All fish were caught on wacky rigged senkos. Threw a square bill and some top water but no takers. Water temp was about 64. Not one quality fish today but we had a blast. Let's get some more posts on BV waters. I will try to provide updates when I go.
  12. Agree 100%. Brad was a great guy to spend the day with and it was highly educational for me. I fish the BV lakes mostly and will try to transfer the things I learned up there. Jigging spoons were a mystery to me before, but now I have confidence I can find and catch some of those open water fish. I don't have quite as good electronics as he does but I do have down imaging so I should be ok. I'm anxious to get out and apply the knowledge.
  13. Ron I did hire a guide, his name was Brad Wiegman. Had a good day, caught several whites and learned about fishing jigging spoons. Caught several small LM on crank baits and the highlight of my day was a 16in Smallmouth. Also got a good education on electronics. Just what the DR ordered.
  14. I've got next week off and would like to get on some Stripers/hybrids/whites. Can anyone recommend a good guide? Thanks.
  15. I have had some luck with clear tiny torpedoes. Seems like when the fish are keying smaller baitfish the clear bait works well.
  16. The upper end of Lake Sequoyah is full of grass. Go early or late with a hollow belly (I like the spro) and hold on. Also, don't be afraid to throw it in open water near cover. A lot of strikes will occur there.
