Just wondering where greaser is on the lake. I've looked on maps but I'm either blind or it didn't show it. Thanks!!

-
sounds GREAT wrench!!! will deffinatly try that next mess of white i get!!!

if you dont mind me asking bite...where have you been catching your cats and how. A buddy of mine and i might be going up next weekend and he has not caught many fish this year so i'd like to put him on some. pluse we're having a fish fry soon and i'm a few fillets short...got some crappie and blue gill but would like to add some frying size cats to the mess. as for the whites...i alway fillet mine then soak in really salty salt water for 2-4 days 4 is better but only if you have your fridge cold enough, if not 2 works and change the water out daily then i use Andys breading...it comes in a clear platic type bag and the breading is orange...it's very flavorful. Thanks, good luck and good fishing!!

thanks for the info...I've seen on a couple posts that hey have been shutting down at dark. they shouldn't be completely on the nest yet but who knows. I thought I would try to be down there by 4 or so and see what happens.
-
just wondering if anyone had been after any cats between Aldrich and highpoint in the last couple of days. was thinking about taking my grandpa down and throwing out a few noodle jugs and seeing what happens but if they are on the nest then will just go walleye and crappie fishing. any Info in greatly appreciated!! thanks good luck and good fishing!!!

forgot to say that if they start spawning then the bite will slow some cause the males when they are guarding the nest will not eat. will only bite if they find something a threat to the nest but the good with that is that when they come off the nest which is anywhere from 10-15 days there will be some very hungry catfish!! good luck and good fishing!!

if you go in the next couple weeks I would consider going catfishing. the are getting ready to spawn and can be caught up next to chunk rock around bridges and in the swift water around Aldrich using anything from shiners to gold fish and my favorite a piece of raw shrimp tipped with a leach. when fishing around those places use a cork and fish from 3-4ft from the bank out to about 10ft from it fishing 3-5ft down. my favorite bridge to fish is the h highway bridge a the twin bridges fishing on the side of the beach. hope this helps good luck and good fishing!!

haven't been in a couple weeks. was just wondering if anyone has been cat fishing lately and if they were on the nest or closer to post spawn thanks and good fishin!!
-
went to the h highway bridge today....we got there about 5am. caught 3 cats a 8lb blue 3lb and 2lb channel...missed two or three and had one break off. all were caught on shrimp under a cork. one channel and the blue had eggs in them and from the looks they were going to lay them anyday. the next two weeks should be really good for the cats. good luck and good fishin!!

i havent done much fishing for flats jr but i would say your right...tight to the structure should be good...the majority of them should be post spawn or close so they should be feeding. i've always heard aside from perch, big 5 in gold fish work well for them on jug and trot lines...only problem is there expensive!!
-
the blues and channels should be almost to pre spawn right now especially the blues. I was up the 21st thru the 24th at ruark and we came home with 3 blues and 2 channels two 10lb blues and a 8lb blue and one of the blues had eggs. when fishing for cats I usually go to the twin bridges and fish on the rocks at the H highway bride on the beach side by that tree at the end with shrimp under a cork. we are going in the morning...I will post how we do good luck and good fishin!!

well looks like they still havent spawned full swing yet...personally i dont think they are going to the bank but thats just my thoughts....hope them and the walleye both are going strong next week. btw what was the water temp?
-
DID THEY HAVE EGGS IN THEM FRY? SUCKS ABOUT THE WALLEYE...MAYBE NEXT WEEK WILL BE BETTER...AND WERE YOU TROLLING CRANKS FOR THE CRAPPIE OR SOMETHING ELSE? THANKS AND GOOD FISHIN
-
if it were me...and keep in mind i have never went after whites post spawn....i would guess channel swings on windy points suspended on the drop but thats basicly just something i congered up that sounded good to me. i know pre spawn i found them se of hight point on a rocky windy bank right above the drop.

yeah red it's a slab rock bank about half way between Aldrich and highpoint maybe a little closer to Aldrich than high point...I've never ran that with a boat

I will be on Stockton the 21st thru the 24th and we are camping at raurk west but at night im going to drive around to my crappie spot off 123. you just take 123 north of where 215 goes back west and cross the Aldrich bridge and continue to go north for about 3-5 mile or so until you come to a road on the left called 475 and turn left. the road will bend back to the left and then you have the option to go straight on a white gravel road or follow the road to the right go straight on the white gravel road and follow it about half a mile then it ends in the water but right before that there is a turn off to the right...turn right and go another half mile or so to the second turn on the left...once you turn there are two roads one left one right...if you have anything less than a jacked up 4x4 go left and follow it all the way round until you see a cut in the woods on your left where you can park...park there and take the walking path that goes straight off the hill to the lake...theres another trail to the right that goes to the water too but I always go down the one on the left going straight down...and that will take you to the water...take minnows corks and lanterns and fish 2-5 ft deep from 4 or 5pm till you get tired...I've caught many crappie and cats there and will be there next tues. wed. and thurs. night....message me your number and I can help you find it if you need it...also google Stockton map and you can find the road 475 i'm talking about. hope this helps. good luck and good fishin!!!

Just wondering what everyones opinion is on what crankbait have been working the best for walleye lately and how deep they need to dive to catch fish in 20fow or so. also is everyone trolls the cranks with their trolling motor or big motor. Thanks and good fishin!!

Thanks Minnesota for the advice. We will deffinatly do that. good luck to you as well! -
First off I'm new to this site and i just want to say i love it. Everyone seems nice and very helpful. With that being said, a buddy of mine is coming in from illonios on the 21st and we are camping at ruark until the 24th. we were orginally coming up to try to find some flat heads but the water hasnt warmed enough yet so im wanting to catch some walleye and crappie. I'm pretty familliar with the crappie but not at all with the walleye. I was hoping some of you guys wouldnt mind helping us out on where to go and what to use. If you have any advice on either that would be greatly appriciated. Thanks and good fishin!!
