When they're frozen, figuring out how to get a line in the water...
5 lb bar bell weight on a rope - tossing it out may work if the ice isn't too thick.
Of course, that would get you a few looks!
Thanks Geoff!
May hit one or the other Saturday if the weather isn't too bad.
Going to the Suson Park Trout fishing and chili eating event that afternoon 5-9 PM
Saw this and thought I'd share:
Trout Fishing & Chili Feed, Saturday, December 7, 5 - 9 p.m.,Suson Park
early for this popular event! Fish for rainbow trout and enjoy an all-you-can-eat chili feed. Anglers must have a state fishing license and an annual trout permit is required to possess trout. Advance registration is required by calling (314) 615-8472. Cost is $5/person.
I'm close to Carp Lake so that will be a spot to check out.
Was hoping to hit the Meramec near Bennett Springs but nursing an ear infection and don't need it getting worse.
Hope to see you guys out there!
Thanks for the responses guys and nice pic Oneshot!
The Niangua sounds very interesting. Haven't hit the Bennett Springs area yet; been focusing on Meramec Springs since I relocated here.
Thinking of going out on Saturday but that depends on weather and if my ear infection clears up a bit.
Eventually, float trips on my 9 foot pontoon once I hook up with someone so we can have a vehicle at the start and end...
So, trout season is over but are the trout parks such as Meramec and Bennett Springs still open for trout?
And do they continue to stock through the off season?
Being a newbie to MO fishin', want to make sure I'm following the regs.
