  1. I'm not too familiar with spinners and lures, so I use night crawlers. So far it has worked very good. I get a bite about 90% of the time. I'm learning as I go and the only advice that I get is from people in here and some from YouTube. I'm hoping one day I can meet someone that can become my friend and teach me more about this beautiful activity. If any of you ever bump into a tall latino man with a young boy, don't hesitate to approach me and say hello. I love this area of the country and I want to make lifetime friends. Once again thank you for all the advice and hope to meet you one day in the near future.
  2. Feathers and fins Thank you for the info. But I don't have a boat or kayak to go fishing. Like I said before I'm new here in Springfield and I'm just getting started on the fishing thing. Can you recomend some good spots in Tablerock were I can do some bank fishing? I don't know anyone that would go with me and show me, so I do everything on my own or with my 3 year old. Perhaps next season I will have the chance to go on a boat fishing. Thanks again.
  3. When I first joined this blog, I mentioned that I was a beginner angler. I got some very helpful advice from some of you and I'm very thankful for that. I did get a couple of chances to go bank fishing this summer. Now the fall is here and I don't know what to do now. As I mentioned before I'm new to the Springfield area and I'm always open to any suggestions. I want to continue practicing and improving my fishing technique. Can anyone suggest something for me? Thank you.
  4. Thank you for the tip. But it seems that they are focused on fly fishing, or am I wrong?
  5. I finally went fishing this weekend. Went to a local pond in a city park. I didn't go to Fellows Lake or Springfield Lake because I didn't want to be intimidated and get discouraged. I can tell you that I had the best luck with night crawlers. I used some lures and spinners but had no luck. With the warms I got 5 fish. The best thing about all this is that I got the opportunity to try different things and practiced my casting technique. Thank you to all of you that gave me advice in this forum. No I can't wait to go and do it again and get better.
  6. Chase, thank you for the advice. I will stop by and pick them up. I will have to go to Springfield Lake because I don't know anybody here in Missouri. Like I mentioned before I just moved from California and I don't have any friends here.
  7. Thanks Nighthawk. You can count me in. I will be there for the next meeting. As I mentioned before, I want to make new friends and in the process learn to fish.
  8. I don't have a canoe or kayak. Perhaps in the future. Thank you for the offer.
  9. Thank you for the info Phil, however I wasn't able to enter into the link that you suggested. Can you verify it and provide it to me again. Thanks.
  10. Thank you for your replies and sharing the information.
  11. I recently moved to Springfield from California. I'm 38 and I never fished in my life. I got myself a couple of fishing combos, tackle box and some basic tackle items. However I don't know how to use any of these items or what tackle goes with what. I found this forum I hope that someone can help me. I'm looking to make some friends and in the process learn to fish. Is there anyone interested in helping a new angler from Cali and in the process gain a friend? Thanks.
  12. I just moved to Springfield from California and decided to learn how to fish. I bought a couple of combos and some basic tackle. But I have no idea how to use any of it. I don't have any idea were to go fish. I'm looking for a buddy that will teach me at least the basics and make friends along the way. Can anyone help me?
