  1. Thanks Jtram we have floated from 71 hwy to town hole but were thinking of going on down to Mt Shira. Just wondering what obstacles we might run into. I would also like to entertain McNatt to Anderson sometime
  2. Have any of you recently floated this stretch. It seems a few years ago someone mentioned at least one big log jam that you had to portage around. Just wondering what it was like now. Just looking for some water we haven't floated a bunch.
  3. I think I seen you guys on that Sunday also. I was in a Jackson Cuda kayak and my buddy in a tan heritage. We should have introduced ourselves. Thanks for the report

    5/18/14 Float

Took the kayak out today and floated from Pineville to Mt Shira. Only caught one small large mouth but didn't fish hard, others we asked seemed to be having the same luck. Seemed like most of the people on the river today were fishing, that will change next weekend I am sure. Even seen quite a few guys fly fishing today. My fishing partner learned a hard lesson today as he lost a nice bait casting setup, he will be looking for some rod floats if anyone has a recommendation. Today was my first long float in my new Jackson Cuda 12 kayak, if anyone is looking for a new yak I couldn't be happier with it. Anyway it was a nice day and hope some others also got out and enjoyed the day.

    Fishing In Noel

Thanks for the input. I have floated the Elk many times but just purchased a new fishing kayak and will probably have some solo outings so that is why I was hoping for the put in and take out being the same area. I hadn't thought about Mt Shira and paddling up above Ginger Blue, but that would be good also. Does anyone know anyone doing shuttles that far down for a decent price? I asked Shady Beach once, we planning on putting in at Pineville and floating back to SB. We would drop our kayaks in Pineville and leave a person there. Another drive to SB and just catch a ride. They quoted me $25, which at the time was the same as renting a kayak.
  6. Do any of you ever fish the area right at Noel. I was thinking of launching my kayak in the little city park area across from Shadow Lake. Basically thinking it would be easy to put in and take out in the same place and figured you could fish until mid day before the floaters really arrive. I know it's winter but can't wait for spring and summer.
