    You'll be fine. A stream smallie exerts much more energy than their stillwater brethren.. this time of the year they're really looking to fatten up. Fall fishing is the best fishing, even in colder, stained water. Actually, I like a stained stream as it gives the smallies a bit of "cover" for then to feel protected. Look for a rising stream though.. they will slow their feeding after a creek crests.
