  1. You show your stupidity loud and clear! I'm not the only one who thinks that, trust me!
  2. It's amazing that you won't accept the fact that bass mortality comes in many, many different forms. You just want to single out the tournament guys and spew your hate towards them. Here is a idea..why don't you go down to Hickory Creek this weekend around 11 or midnight and see how many illegal bass are on stringers from the 47 people that will be fishing from the bank?? Maybe check prairie creek also around the fishing dock and the boat ramp. I'm sure you don't want to know how many bass are harvested illegally every weekend...or every day.
  3. June 29th results 17 boats 1st place Teddy Holt Mike Jones 15.36 lbs 2nd place Justin Mounce Justin Hoffman 14.68 lbs 3rd place Kalen & Bradley 12.66 lbs Big bass Teddy and Mike 4.79 lbs
  4. You are correct Champ..it would be welcome by some and pushed back by others. The famous Wednesday night jackpot at Lake of the Ozarks was a 5 fish limit for years and years. They then dropped back to a 4 fish limit. They still draw a ton of boats each week. The Wednesday night jackpot here at Beaver is a 3 fish limit. But you are right, changing it to a 3 fish deal does open the door for more luck to be involved. Same reason most derbys don't allow the a-rig. Brings the luck factor way up. I don't think there are any derbys on Monday or Thursday night stump.
  5. The best finish my daughter and I have had on the adult side was 7th last year when we were on the smallmouth pretty good. She has finished 1st and 2nd in the youth several times...I'm trying to take advantage of her wanting to fish tourneys with me before she hits that 'it's not cool to fish with Dad' age! Lol!!
  6. Jackpot tonight!! Hickory creek marina 630-11! Come fish with us. One of the only 100% payback tournaments on beaver lake! True 100% payback!
  7. Good info for sure! I practice most everything shared in the video.
  8. Great points here..thank you. Yes, Chi seems to think bass anglers in tournaments kill the largest % of bass...it seems that from various comments from others including anglers and a biologist, most of us agree that illegal harvesting really is the biggest threat. The shared video has some great info in it...I practice almost everything in the video and rarely weigh a dead bass. As a matter of fact, the last dead bass I weighed was in the Everett championship last fall. My daughter gut hooked a Kentucky on a ned rig and it didn't make it. Summer tournaments have and will go on, like it or not. Kicking the limit back to 3 fish and limiting the number of fish brought to the weigh in would be the best way to combat post weigh in mortality.
  9. Well, I am sad to report that there was a 0% survival rate at the crappie tournament weigh-in. Every fish at the weigh in was murdered...sentenced to death by frying in hot grease!!?? in the everett tourney, it took just shy of 20 pounds for the win. ? My daughter won the youth division with 7.75lbs and we should have got a check in the adult division also but I didn't fish a clean tournament. Top water early and then mixed in the ned rig later in the day. Fished from prairie to horseshoe and also stopped at the bridge piers to let my daughter catch a few spots in the shade!!!
  10. Just getting up and around...I will post on this thread if (when) we head to JJ's!!
  11. Good luck up there tomorrow...I thought about going to the clear end but I am going the other direction. If the river doesn't produce, We may end up under the 12 bridge catching spots!! And if all else fails, we will be eating at JJ's restaurant at noon! Lol!!
  12. Welcome aboard!!
  13. Man, that's awesome!! Jaelyn did the exact same thing for her birthday in January for the Fayetteville animal shelter! That's awesome that our kids think of others instead of themselves!!!
  14. For those that don't know, Rogers Outdoor Sports is closing and having a great sale on tackle!
  15. Great responses...thanks for the input mojorig. We run the recirculater as soon as the first fish hits the livewell until weigh-in. And have never lost a fish. We had 12.95 last night in the jackpot and weighed 5 healthy largemouth. Finished 2nd. Better watch out Jo...commenting on this thread and acknowledging you fish summer tournaments may result in a tongue thrashing by someone....? Come by and say hi Saturday morning before take off if you see us. Hard to miss a Ranger 195 red/white with my 10 year old daughter in the passenger seat!!
  16. She definitely enjoys the weigh in and also likes getting a check!! Hope I'm still here in NWA to fish them again next year..
  17. Thanks...it will be a hot one for sure!! If the bass aren't cooperating with my daughter and me by lunch time, we will be at JJ's on the water eating!! I always try to make our tournaments together enjoyable even if we aren't catching them very good...because I know one day soon it won't be 'cool' to fish tournaments with her Dad. Lol!!!
  18. Are you helping with the weigh in again this Saturday Ryan?
  19. Exactly champ..nothing is going to change. Summer tournament happen all across the country.
  20. He has been with the AGFC for a long, long time. I will try to get a phone number for him tomorrow and send it to you in a message.
  21. The first tourney of the newly formed Beaver lake crappie association will be this Saturday out of hickory creek.
  22. Totally agree Jerry! I would be more concerned with this Lowe aluminum boat that has been loading the boat on the bridge pier here on Beaver but that's just me...someone needs to drop a tip to Bill Ruby.
  23. MLF does have a great system..as a matter of fact, they were at Lake of the Ozarks last week while I was there. "You have problems if you think it's fun to see dead bass floating around." Seriously. What a darn stupid comment. Like I originally stated, if you have such a deep concern, take it up with the AGFC and get summer tournaments ban. Ive got an idea...why don't you show up at prairie creek this Saturday morning at the Everett team trail tournament and protest them having a tournament. There will be around 160-170 boats there. I'm sure that would go over well....
  24. There is a 0% chance you are going to get judges/officials to ride along in every boat of the dreaded night or summer tournaments. Just isn't going to happen. This isn't Major League Fishing. And Mr Chi, if you honestly think we cool the livewell water down to 50 or 60 degrees, you must be smokin' something from Colorado. I think tournament organizations have came a LONG way in fish conservation over the years. As a matter of fact, check out these 2 pics from a couple Bassmasters Classics during the 70's. What do you think their live release % was back then???? Night tournaments have been going on for decades...Beaver also...and they aren't going to stop anytime soon. There is no way to have 100% catch and release success ANY time of the year..we will just do the best we can with what we have. Like it or not. Phil has a good idea but it must be perfected. Look at all the kayak cheaters that have been caught lately. Their idea of catch, picture, release has beought out those kayakers that find a way to cheat the system.
