  1. Alien minnows😂 Heard about this product called fire dye from a bait shop down in Louisiana. Just curious about it and wanted to have some fun playing around with it. So gave the shop a call and order one bottle. The stuff cost like 12 dollars a bottle for a one time use. So don’t plan to use this stuff regularly. I’ld be broke😂 But it works well. Was trying to keep track what caught what but, a lot of fish caught yesterday and gave up. WT 56-60.. Clarity is still perfect. Rigging 1/2oz minnow rigs out aways from them bushes where them staging females are moving in and out. Still got dink like crazy but, hey it is Beaver😂. Just pilfered threw them and ended with 14 before running out of time, to needing to get home. Nice to always put a face with a forum member. Pleasure to meet you both yesterday sir. Sick of the wind... God blessed, pics below and yes that slab ate a green minnow 😂 This post has been promoted to an article
  2. Second time in my life that’s happened.. Got out briefly yesterday after church. Basically got a short hall pass😂 Didn’t expect much. Been several days since on the water. Just wanted to go wet a line and catch a fish. Right away it was on after setting my second rod in the holder. Never could get all rods completely out😂. Stayed like that for about an hour but, the thing was I was getting dinked crazy. Usually I go underneath them and to the bottom but, they were throughout the water column. So, just made the best of the conditions and pilfered through what I could keep on limited time. Water clarity.... Is perfect... WT 53 degrees. Ended with 8... More rain and cold coming this weekend...🙄 God Bless. Pics below... Yes that’s considered a slab😁

  4. I seen this one posted on a Beaver Report page over the weekend. Said it was caught last week. No weight stated.
  5. Good mess of fish. Ready for a little bobber action in them bushes myself. Once this all settles... Good fishing Lance
  6. Got out Friday and Saturday. Been a temporary bachelor around here and just figured might as well go fish Saturday too. Both days was a slow bite for me. Got to fish Friday a little where I been wanting to go for awhile. The fish seem better quality there but, once the gale force winds kick in and the boat traffic picks up, it makes it difficult. Ended up moving to a little stretch of area for shelter and stayed there. Ended with 15 on Friday Saturday morning that wind was still a gusting. Figure I go try a little of an area where it’s somewhat manageable but, then the wind started tossing my tin can around so, opted for same area as Friday. Ended with 10. Rigging minnows.... WT 57-59 Fish caught Friday where in 10-8 fow and Saturday fish caught where in 5-6 fow. Them males caught Saturday are starting to get their war paint on. Coming up on my favorite method of rigging now 😁 Pics below and God bless

  8. Yes... They been biting light the past couple trips. Got to watch that line more than tips. Good light rod tips help a lot. If you really get into it I’ld suggest BnM BGJP. 16ft length too. Get them baits away from the boat. Like anything else the more you fish this method the better you’ll get. It takes a lot of water time Learn how they seasonally migrate. Learn how white crappie relate seasonally.... Time, patience and be persistent with it. You’ll get it. Yes... Boat traffic just part of it this time of year... There’s only one spring 😂
  9. Wouldn’t know how to act if we didn’t have to fish in gail-force winds. These last two Friday trips have felt like work😂 Found an area where we could fish and have somewhat control of the boat. It was a slow bite there but, still came home with 12. WT got up to 57. Rigging minnows, 8-11 fow for the most part My ol coworker AJ.... Yeah, he’s got that fever😂..... God bless

  11. I would move your graph to the center and get these T- bars in the corners. Best bang for the buck. Easy to adjust. Easy, quick grap out of the holder.... I used these for 5 years with no issues. My opinion these are much better than any other expensive T-Bar brand out there. Follow the link http://hitekstuff.com/
  12. White bass😡..... I hate them things.... Next to gar, that’s the last thing I want to see on the end of my line.😂. I’ve hooked up on a white bass in the past on my out side rod and they’ve run all threw the other seven. I’ve had 4 rods go down and make a mess of things.... I catch a couple back to back I’ll pull up my lines and move... There a fun fish to catch the traditional way of fishing but, rigging Its a headache. Cranking... I use my T-Bar holders that I mount up on each side of the bow. I turn them parallel with the sides of the boat. The holder up closest to the trolling motor is a 16 foot BnM pro staff trolling rod. The next holder is a 12 foot BnM PST and then the next holder after that is a 8 foot BnM PST. They face out perpendicular to the bow. I use okuma magda pro line counter reels, 10# mono as backing and then about 100 or so feet of 10# fluorocarbon. I tie on a size 3 swivel so I can change out baits quickly and avoid line twist. The rod closest to the trolling motor has the least amount of line out and the inside rod has the most line counted out. Seem to avoid tangles the best and and to get fish in the easiest without crossing lines Bandit 300’s and Pico cranks are my go to lures of choice when catching summer time crappie fishing. I hope that all makes sense 😂
  13. Never been. Want to... Just always crunched for time. Being that I have 3 and 5 year old girls. I only can usually get out on a Friday mid morning to mid afternoon
  14. MG, 12v, 45#, optima blue top battery... Have a duralast battery that just sits in the floor board as a back up. My tracker is 2010 Pro170. Correct on that... There isn’t any room back there for another battery.. Crammed tight
  15. I would suggest put two on both sides of your foot controller and expand out from there. Spacing depends on how wide your front deck is. I spaced mine about 3” apart and they work perfectly. Drift Master another company that makes single holders called crappie stalkers recommend about 5” spacing. They have a more narrow mount as well. Wasn’t a fan of theirs. Too much risk of stripping screws while adjusting on the water. No mine are the 18” height. That’s what my T bars are so that’s what I’m use too.... Don’t fix something that ain’t broken
  16. I’ld have to have their bass boat or do some kind of custom build. The thing is I don’t like the bow. Feel you loose a lot of rod length with their bow design. I’ve seen riggers turn their trolling motor mounts more in a perpendicular position on the bow. So they can keep their holders up. That might be option
  17. Didn’t design. Just something I’ve been wanting for the past couple years. Just had to save up the money. They are called Elite Rod Holders. My opinion the best you can get and at the best price amongst single rod holders. Much easier to adjust and strong The benefit is that it isolates which rod is getting bit. Instead on the traditional T-Bar holder set where rods get to bouncing from the other rods. Also my old T-Bar setup I had to take down to pull up the trolling motor. These just fold down and go. I’ve been rigging for awhile. I do it consistently 9-10 months out of the year. It’s a different beast. Can’t remember the last time I single pole jig fish😂 Take my advice it ain’t something you want to infest in to just try.... Commitment Here’s also a link to the rod holders http://www.eliterodholders.com/single-custom-rod-holders-for-crappie.html
  18. Knock on wood... I caught my first white bass Friday and that’s been it since I got back on Beaver in late December. My friend caught one striper over a month ago. Only stripers I’ve seen were also over a month ago. They were ones that have been cleaned with their carcasses left on the ramp😡
  19. Thanks Bill... No I don’t... I use a total different set of holders mounted a little further back on the bow for close reaching
  20. Been a couple weeks since I’ve been on Beaver. I installed my new rod holders one week and last week took my Dad to the little lake to go fish. Been hearing the bite has really turned insane since the flood. Boy they weren’t joking. You could probably put a plain hook in the water and catch crappie right now.... Dinks are thick A coworker and I went yesterday and smoked them😂. I only wanted to keep a one man limit. Kept 16 WT 51, rigging minnows. We caught fish everywhere 15 feet or less. Go get em.... Minus it white capping in the minnow bucket it was awesome out. Pics below... God Bless
  21. Yes... Just long and skinny here. A 14” crappie on Beaver weighs around 1.6-1.5#s this time of year. Down there 2#s give or take. All about that fertile water.
  22. Not a Beaver Lake Report... Just wanted to share about a little road trip I took down to central AR on Sunday. Met up with a good friend of mine from down there to go fish Lake Dardanelle. The initial plan was to go to Lake Conway but, had a lot of rain the day before so the Big D was the next option. He hasn’t been on this lake in months. We burned a lot of gas to find them. We about gave up with only 2 fish in the kitchen to head back home when one of his tanks ran out of gas and had to switch tanks over. We were slowly drifting when all of the sudden his graph lit up like Christmas lights. Told him man look at your graph. He said you think those are crappie.... I said it’s a sign. Let’s drop some hooks down and find out.😂😂 Boy were we lucky. Rigging 40 fow, 30 feet down was where we caught them. Not my favorite way of rigging but, that’s how they are on this lake this time of year I guess. Not relating to nothing. Just up a deep creek arm swimming around in the open feeding on their way to spawning areas. Haven’t fished in central Arkansas in a long time. You’ll get spoiled quick with how fat the crappie are. God bless.. pics below
  23. I don’t know sir.
  24. I use Southtown minnows. There is a Verlero (spelling?) gas station on Hwy 412 just east of Sanora Baptist Church in Sonora that sells them too. They count out everyone of them though😂. I usually buy 5 dozen. Depends on the bite as well, if slow or not.
  25. That’ll let you stay intact with bottom your way and just hit them in the head to make them look up😂. It’s more of a preference to me. If that’s what works for you use it. I just don’t like being right on the bottom. Tend to bottom lip hook set them and have pop offs or miss bites. They feed looking up so, I try be 1-2 feet above them. Over deep water 15-25 feet it’s a total different story. Way high in the column. They see something flickering the shoot up to take a peak and bam. Learn that this fall and early winter on Lake X😂
