  1. Wouldn't mind taking the family to catch some cats. Any suggestions where to go in the Kimberling/Aunts area? Shallow I take it?
  2. We've briefly dabbled with the Ned, with mixed results. Think I might need to go with a smaller head (using 3/8). Not able to "crawl" it over the rocks like we can with smaller creature/finesse style baits rigged Texas on an 1/8th. With that, we can go real slow, crawling it over obstacles not getting hung nearly as often. We've had much better results this way. Think I'll have to work on my Ned setup to get better results.
  3. Thanks guys. Yes, we were on the bank. We have a boat, but found some good places up close and with the weather earlier this week, we decided to give it a go from shore. Ended up slaying them early in the week, so just stayed after it. Everything was real close, 3' or less. Baxter, Joe Bald, Kimberling, it didn't matter where. Slow was the key and my son REALLY struggled fishing slow. Once he saw the results, he was convinced. He beat me on numbers.
  4. Have been going out for a little while each day for the past coupe of weeks. They are really biting right now, so want to take advantage of it. We're new to the area and have stuggled to get started, but with fishing like this, we're catching on. This fish came on my first cast today. Hard to beat that. Didn't have my scale, but he was over 20". Was thin from the spawn. My son decided he need to hold it up for the photo. He had a great time and is catching the fishing bug. Great way to spend some time together. All the fish we're catching (and we are catching a lot) are on the bottom, fished real slow, with smaller, finess type baits on light lackle. The bite can be tricky, they are picking it up and moving it, so you have to work on the hook set. Most all the LM's have spawned, but catching a lot of brownies still in the process. On Tues, we caught several goggles. Some real nice ones. Fishing is good right now. Get out there!
