Mellow Pescadoro

There was a torrential downpour Wed and I got the kids out of the boat before the toad strangler Thursday at 5. My bilge pump ran for 4 solid minutes afterwards. I didn’t see any fish upstream of the hole to Holiday Island Thursday or Friday. I ran all the way to Baxter Friday morning and was back by 10:45. Saw a couple floating upstream of point 25, but nothing like the 50 that were floating in the stretch between the hole and ER bridge that morning. Wonder if something washed down the high bank there on the north side. It wasn’t bothering the bass in that stretch when I was fishing. When I loaded the boat Sunday morning it was bad.

Started seeing fish between the west side of the Eagle Rock bridge and the hole on Thursday morning. Maybe 20-30. Almost everyone was a walleye. There were a few more Friday and by Saturday afternoon more than 50. Most of them were walleye. By this morning at 6:00 am there were probably 250-300 dead fish. It stunk bad. A mix of carp, short spots and 60% walleye. Keeper walleye too.
