  1. Where at in Lost Bridge. We just came back from there last week. Weather sucked but I caught a few fish. Mostly smallmouth with some bluegill mixed in. Marked other fish just couldn't get any takers.

Struck out today. Went for something other than black bass. Only fished when the rain stopped right before dark. If it's smallies you seek...start in front of the 4 sign and work SE 100 yards casting towards the bank. After 100 yrds look south. There is rip rap someone put in with a fallen tree. Fish south until you hit the big sweet gum tree. Work it good. Head NE across the cove. Lots o brush to fish. Even though the weather sucked we appreciate the hospitality. Hope to be back next year. I want to hire a guide to tie into some stripers next go around.

Tonight it was rip rap. Found some rip rap folks had out and caught fish. Lake was higher than the morning which is to be expected. Couldn't find any schools to try. Hoping the rain stays away so I can hit it the next 2 mornings then head home. Good luck out there.
  4. I just ran to the dam from Lost Bridge village. We encountered debris near the bigger island along the way. Nothing huge but I wouldn't want to hit it in my boat. Just be heads up.
  5. I am just hoping the ramps are still usable Thursday morning to pull the boat out.

I figure if nothing else the kids and I will go back to the dock and catch the bluegill. My 2.5 yr old caught his first fish down there last night. They don't care how big they are.

That's pretty much what I was doing but still with a grub. Chartreuse was again the color. Need to go get some imitation crawfish stuff. I have a couple small crankbaits. Rain just ran me off. Never saw a surfacing school all morning. Was on the water at 0530

So far this morning 1 smallie. Couple smaller bites I imagine were bluegill. Have been over 2 schools of fish that at home I would've guessed were white bass but jigging spoons had no takers. Seeing what I can find now.

Forgot to add by 745 very few boats out. Do whites not bust shad in the evenings down here? Kept waiting for a frenzy but it never came.

Got in this afternoon. Got the 3 day license. We are staying in Lost Bridge village. Went out this evening for an hour. Found crappie suspended in timber in 30 fow. Fish were about 25 ft. Couldn't get a taker but it was pretty obvious what they were. Then threw a shad crankbai r along shore on a main lake point. No bites, but coming back down it I used a 1/4 oz jig head with a chartreuse 3" grub body. Caught one smallmouth missed 3 others. One was a size able fish that hit right at the boat. I'll be on the water bright and early. Hoping to find some surfacing whites/stripers.
  11. Do you guys ever try the green submersible lights off of docks at night for crappie and whites?
  12. We are headed that way in 3 weeks. I will be monitoring the thread to see if its even worth dragging the boat down this year. Caught some fish at Beaver last year and generally had a blast. Here in Kansas the local lake has been 20 ft high. Water was lapping over the top of the spillway gates. We got a bunch of rain last night and I went and pulled a trail camera today as a precaution. We have a power plant lake close to the house with a small drainage, and the smallies have been on fire there for weeks, but walleye, whites, wipers, and crappie have all but disappeared compared to previous years. Are your ramps useable right now? We will be staying in the Lost Bridge Village area.
  13. For what it's worth I knew nothing about the lake. F&F gave me a few tips. I have fished the Beaver shores area the last 2 mornings and evenings. Got into schools of white bass with a small striper mixed in both times. Went clear to the bridge tonight but didn't mark many fish. Watch for them on the sonar, then hang on. Did find what appeared to be crappie in 32 fow about 26 ft down. Caught one on a jigging spoon. Pulled spinner rigs for walleye but only caught 2 small channel cat.
