  1. Hey Guys and Gals, Here are some water temps for today, January 29th, 2016. One of these days I am going to make a cast every stop I make! Water temps have cooled off across the lake. There are no readings over 49.0 degrees, even in the main lake. You may find temps higher than that, but my lower lake readings are in permanent shade over 70' of water at Indian Point, so the sun today shouldn't affect that reading much. Also, since the Lake is back down to level, all launch ramps were accessible today. Lots of debris...they were even burning debris piles at Cricket Creek. Lake is stained essentially lake-wide. Creek arms worse than the main lake, although, the main lake is more stained than usual. I'd love to hear from you guys what these temps actually mean...i.e. is it jerkbait time? What is the plan of attack?? As usual, visit the website for more details and to see the map... State Park Marina: 48.5 Indian Point Marina: 49.0 Cape Fair Marina: 44.7 Campbell Pointe Marina: 48.6 Kings River Marina: 47.3 Eagle Rock Marina: 44.9 Holiday Island Marina: 47.3 Long Creek Marina: 48.4 Cricket Creek Marina: 47.3 I'm very close to getting funding to have realtime gauges that report temperature to my website. Very close. I hope to have that available to you guys and gals before the Spring warm up. Good luck out there. Ben
  2. You know, I wondered the same thing myself. I'm leaning towards that it is on landowners and marina operators to clean up. But, I am not positive. Anyone?
  3. Thanks Quillback, this is a can-do. I actually thought of that after the fact....figures. Ramp/launch accessibility will be taken into consideration in the future.
  4. Updated water temperature information for Table Rock Lake. You guys know the drill: see the map for details if you wish There are also some minor notes on observed stain/water color/debris on the details for each point on the map. I've removed many old readings from the map in favor of sticking with the main marinas and most recent readings. Just cleaning up the clutter. I did miss Holiday Island this trip due to some concern for the weather that didn't end up causing much issue. This cold weather and the major rain event have helped to cool things off, at least somewhat. Warmest water lake-wide was at State Park Marina of 51.4 degrees. Coldest water found was at Cape Fair Marina of 46.8 degrees. Looking at the 10-day forecast, it's tough to determine what the water temperatures will do. Cold nights, but mid-50's and sunshine in the days come mid week. Many days are calling for 10mph winds at minimum. The Corps will continue discharging 20,000 CFS from Table Rock Dam, which will continue to pull the cold James River water towards the lower end. Lots of factors at play. Anyone have thoughts on this? Cricket Marina: 49.1 Long Creek Marina: 49.6 State Park Marina: 51.4 Indian Point Marina: 51.0 High and Dry Kimberling City: 51.1 Cape Fair Marina: 46.8 Campbell Point Marina: 48.6 (new location, will continue with this) Kings River Marina: 47.3 Eagle Rock Marina: 48.1 Also attached are images from the above marinas to try and get you guys an idea of water color. I'm working on some improvements to this, so these will have to do for now.
  5. Also, Stump bumper, until I can get the iPhone app out to you, do you know how to save the website to your Homescreen? It will save as a little icon, essentially a bookmark on your phone's main screen. At least save you some time for now.
  6. If I told ya I'd have to kill ya!... iPhone app under construction.
  7. Man, looking at it, that really would. I'll get it on the agenda and let you guys know. Great info. Thanks.
  8. Your wish is my command, this is the kind of feedback I need. Less familiar with Beaver than TR, so this helps me out Bill. Good deal! Well that's two votes for Prairie Creek Marina... Will do soon. Ben
  9. Are you thinking this 10-day forecast of cooler weather will help out? I'm no expert but I halfway expected them to be a little cooler than they were with all the water moving in towards the Dam? They're a little cooler, but not much.
  10. Here are some water temperatures for 3 areas on Beaver Lake. To see them on a map and learn about details and methods, click here. NOTE: the website will load over Table Rock Lake, but simply drag the map over to Beaver Lake to see the temperatures and locations you're after... **Beaver Lake Temps 1-2-2015** Lost Bridge Marina: 52.6 Rocky Branch Public Use: 51.3 War Eagle Marina: 47.3 I will start to incorporate Beaver Lake into my website. For now, if you visit the map, simply drag it over to Beaver Lake. Good luck and stay safe. Ben
  11. Managed to get some temp readings again today, saw plenty of empty trailers at the various marinas in the area. As usual, if you want a few details and the map, go here, but for an easy look, see below: **1-2-2015 Water Temps** Long Creek Marina: 51.9 Chalets on Table Rock: 50.8 Eagle Rock Marina: 52.2 Dale Cove Launch (near SPM): 52.6 State Park Marina Launch: 52.9 ***BEAVER LAKE LOCATIONS*** (drag the map over to Beaver Lake, southwest of Table Rock, I will make a direct link soon) Lost Bridge Marina: 52.6 Rocky Branch Public Use: 51.3 War Eagle Marina: 47.3 Will get out James River arm temps in the next few days. Hope the high water is treating everyone best it can. Ben
  12. Wow. Makes sense if it does happen. Doesn't sound like fun....
  13. I had the same thought, he didn't look like he bit the dust too long back, must've had one heck of a ride before he went.
  14. I thought so. Thanks guys.
  15. Down in the field by Alexander Park in Branson, so Taneycomo. Also, a few pictures of the Shad that didn't make it.
  16. And a Happy New Year to you Steve!
  17. No problem @Champ188, it's a mess out there.
  18. See temps on the Map See temps in Quick Glance view (this will always be in order from most recent to oldest reading from now on). Only managed 4 readings today: Cricket Creek Marina: 47.9 Long Creek Marina: 50.6 Old HWY 86 Public Use: 51.4 Indian Point: 52.6 Notes: water in creek arms is very dirty and has cooled some. Cricket Creek has loads of debris in the water. See attached photos. Dam area is still surprisingly clear and is also cooling. Will get new temps up for James River arm and the Upper Lake soon. Pictures of Cricket Creek attached to show water color and debris. Ben
  19. THE LEAVES ARE GREEN!
  20. Table Rock has been brought down to 915 or 917 (this is conservation pool, enough to generate power) as quick as they can after each rain event. Bull Shoals has stayed a bit higher than normal due to water frequently flowing over Powersite from Taneycomo (it is designed this way), which comes from them dropping Table Rock, and Beaver behind that, to make room for events like we're experiencing now. They've done an excellent job. They are very smart people. Engineers. Numbers don't lie. They don't act on forecasts, suspicions of rain, or anything else. Only facts and numbers. All in my Humble Opinion P.S. If Johnny is mad his BPS gets water in it, which at this time it is not, then maybe he shouldn't have built a BPS on a flood plane? 931 is top of flood pool, but this is NOT top of Dam. At 937 it's 6ft above flood pool, which causes Corps to further open all 10 Tainter gates, with discharges reaching 200-300,000 CFS. In comparison, they're running just under 70,000CFS (cubic feet per second) today. If it begins rising past 937, up to 941, they'll open all 10 Tainter gates even further, releasing up to 450,000 CFS If the lake is still rising, the Auxiliary Spillway comes online, which essentially amounts to saving the integrity of the Dam, at the expense of Branson, Hollister, and Powersite Dam likely. This is about 1 million CFS. SO, the good news is, they're thinking 935-936. Let's all hope and pray that is the case. Ben
  21. It is in the works ramman123. I will try and let you know when it's up and running.
  22. We are all likely aware of the rain events that are occurring at this moment. These will have a significant impact on water temperatures, among other things. These temps are likely lower as of this post, the water coming down from the James and elsewhere is cool, 40 to 50 degrees, and all water is moving towards the Dam. All 10 gates are open and all 4 generators. Corps expects very high discharges tomorrow. Realtime monitoring is coming this Spring, but this will have to do for now. Managed to get six readings today. I have also added these to the Map on TableRockTemperatures.com. I have also started to put them in a new 'Quick Glance' chart in case anyone would prefer it, you can get to in the navigation menu on my site, or check it out here. Finally, added a few pictures of Cape Fair today around noon. Nasty mess out there! New Water Temps 12-27-2015 Indian Point Marina: 55.1 Cape Fair Marina: 50.1 Hideaway Marina: 54.1 High and Dry (Port of Kimberling): 54.6 Baxter Boat Dock: 53.6 Kings River Marina: 47.8 Other areas I went to take readings on in the creek arms were just nasty. While we are all thinking of how this will affect fishing and I think that is good, also remember there are other effects, the guy who runs this forum for one. This typically peaceful water that brings us all so much enjoyment can also be destructive. Don't forget about those of us affected by these events
  23. No problem Mike....more like thank YOU for getting some use out of it! Enjoy your holidays. Ben
  24. **** 12-24-2015 - Added/Updated a few temps for TRL***** Indian Point Marina: 55.7 ° State Park Marina Launch: 55.7 ° Cricket Creek Marina: 53.8 ° Water definitely has more color down at Cricket Creek than up the big lake by the Dam and is cooler. Lots of guys at Cricket Creek today, reports on here explain why! Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas, I'll update temps lake-wide soon after Christmas, with this weather though not much is changing... More on these TRL Water Temps Ben
  25. Thanks! I'm glad you're getting some use out of it. Appreciate your words. Ben
