  1. It's important for me to catch trout here because, they're there for a reason, although hatchery raised fish at least most of them they're trout. Furthermore trout within an hours drive from my location. Although they don't hold the prestige of wild trout in a beautiful graceful flowing 36 degree mountain stream they're fun to catch. They fight hard and hold pirsuint to typical eating behaviors. If anything they are good practice for when you encounter the real Mr. Brown or bow while on you're next trip to the frying pan in Colorado. I don't hate on the Meramec instead I try to embrace the challenge it presents as a feral trout fishery and am thankful to have opportunity to catch and turn loose of some very nice fish there this year. And to the individuals who abuse the area by stabbing fish in the side with an oversized metal pole and ruining what could potentially be an excellent fishery one day for our children's childern you're unethical swine and I wish the worst for you. For those who do within the confinements of law I applaud you're skill.
  2. The white drake hatch was on yesterday and the day before along with midges and small caddis hatch. Wonderful fishing around suicide hill. Caught over 15 under ten inches and several over twelve inches. One brown. I caught a glance at was by far the biggest brown I've ever seen in my life a quarter mile down stream. He was low in a deep sandy run right before a bend. Any ideas what he was feeding on? Was was boiling around slowly and would roll over on his side and show his belly. He was an easy 22 inches!! Have a good day
